I know the bible canon was watered down or fluffed up. especially during the "Dark ages" around 1300s? people were not allowed to own a bible. only priest were allowed to read to the people. the book of Enoch and other books were removed as well.
It's a faith thing. I don't believe in literal but the fact much of it is proverbial. Lost years of Jesus was believed Jesus Christ went to India (or what is India now) and learned to meditate and possiby other stuff.
it's comfort food for the soul. if it's BS to you then it's your choice. I get annoyed by Christian members as well who try and be judgemental towards me. So I'm not preaching the bible in here. And Im not "Christian" to other christians when I talk to them. Who are they to judge me

Nobody is talking to you, though.
I meant Dingo.

Life is tailor made for our refreshment. I live for fun personally, I think life and people are funny, and I don't know what's on the other side of death, but it will happen eventually. I'm in no rush, it's not a limited time offer or anything.
I'm hoping for life extension tech though, to see humanity play out to the end would be cool.

Also, I'm not saying life is not without pain, but if your ultimate goal is to experience it as fully as possible, then maybe even the deepest pain can be somewhat bittersweet- relishing in the lows that make the highs what they are and vice versa.
With this in mind, is it all not one great high? What would be the true low? The only answer that comes to mind is an absence of life, based on personal speculation.

Sorry, didn't realise this had turned into a 'God' thread.
Imo, belief is the death of intelligence. If you assume such certitude, you'll have that much less to think about. One with nothing to think about would be pronounced clinically dead in few minutes due to lack of brain function.
tl;dr, Faith stops you living to the fullest extent, (which would seem to contradict the idea of life in the first place. Maybe 'God' WANTS you to question him)

I want to witness the end of mankind as we know it and receive confirmation for my final question: Is there a reason to continue to exist?

The elitist might just hide in their little iceburg fort they carved out. it holds all the seeds to replant (if that's possible with all the heavy metal floating around) and it will keep them cool when the planet heats up.. but then it will rapidly cool down and what might be end game for them is if the iceberg melt a bit on the outside then refreeze.. they're trapped inside.
everyone dies. but if 99 percent die that leaves 70 million which is still a lot of fucking people
