Not at the moment no, what's your point?

Having to present a certain image doesn't mean you care about that image..it means you recognize that OTHERS care about your image.

If you are hosting a important function you'd probably be wise to wear something other than shit stained underpants...that doesn't mean you personally are not more comfortable in shitty bottoms. It just means you are "going with the flow".

Life is contradictory...however the fact remains...you can not give a fuck about your appearance and still put a suit on to "fit in" with a situation that is advantageous to you. That doesn't mean you look in the mirror and think "oh wow, I'm beautiful"...as soon as you get home off comes the suit and on goes the shit stained underpants and shirt with last weeks ketchup down the front.

Clarification is often required when dealing with blinkered personalities.

A person can "not give a fuck about their appearance"...but CAN give a fuck about how others perceive them...think hard now.

Appearance and professionalism are 2 separate things...though in the minds of SOME they are related.

As such you'd wear a suit to satisfy those people..while still hating the fact you are wearing a suit yourself.

    External vs internal.

if you still care about how other people perceive you, then you still give a fuck about your appearances since thats one of the main window people perceive you thru.

Wrong, I might care about how someone perceives me professionally as that directly affects my ability to make $$$$. That doesn't mean I care if they or I like the shirt I'm wearing and think I look cute in it.

***I**** don't care about my appearance....if others were the same I'm come to work in a Tshirt and short shorts

that, thing, is still called "caring about my appearances".

No, that's called caring about how others perceive your professionalism...not appearance....2 different things.

If I showed up in a shitty tshirt they'd say "That's not very professional"...NOT "Wow you look like shit in that Tshirt"

    ETA:

It's similar to going to a restaurant/club that requires you wear a tie...you put the tie on because you have to to get in the club...not because you personally care about your appearance.

irrelevant. if you can do your job professionally why would you care about how you appear to them ?

If I showed up in a shitty tshirt they'd say "That's not very professional"…NOT "Wow you look like shit in that Tshirt"

and a man who truly doesnt care how he appears would simply replied : i work with my hands, not my shirt.

but are you man-dated by your boss to dress professionally ?

    are you.

That wouldn't wash giving a presentation to 200 people.

No, I'm paid based on my contributions to the company.

If a stinky homeless person is trying to give you advice on how to be financially stable and successful...you're far less likely to listen to him than if he was in a $1000 suit, rolex watch and leaning against a lambo.

    there you go.

Right, I make my own decisions on attire.

i c. well anyway caring how you appear to others for money, sex or whatever reason is still 'caring about your appearances'.

no, i'd give them equal opportunity to dispense their advices and judge them based on the merit of their advices. some of the smartest people are homeless.

i know. thats how i know you care.

You desperately clinging to 1 tiny aspect of the whole package...I'm not "caring about appearance" I'm caring about the whole presentation...the appearance is a minor point and an easily solved one simply by putting on a few pieces of cloth that I don't care about...but others do.

The only thing you'd dispense is a Cafe Latte and then demand $5 from the homeless person before you handed it over.

    See above and learn.
