    Then again I find meetings to be cringe in general and the whole thing just isn't my cup of tea. Like if it works for you, neato mosquito do what you gotta do, but in my experience it's really just a complete replacement addiction and the people it works for end up revolving their lives around meetings and the AA/NA CULTure in general.

    It doesn't exactly seem fun for me to focus my life around discussing the thing that I'm trying not to do anymore. I'd rather just move on and put it behind me.

    But ur an idiot who regularly consumes large quantities of a nervous system depressant...and then complains about feeling depressed. Ur perspective shud be taken with a grain of salt.

    @MMQ , yup.

    My ex wife #2 had to go to the meetings too (as part of her felony conviction for aggravated assault which had nothing to do with drugs...but they told her to go to the classes anyway).

    When I went with her (to the same place btw), they had guest speakers, this particular time it was a former prostitute and she just talked for an hour on how she used to trick her tricks and/or set them up with her pimp to rob them..and of course then spending the money on drugs...I was sitting there while everyone laughed at her stories thinking "How the fuck is this helping anyone".

    Waste of fucking time.

    She had to have her sign off sheet signed so after a few classes we just faked signatures ourselves...after all, anonymous right..how they gonna know.

    I've been sober for multiple years, multiple times, none of which were a result of AA meetings but rather a result of me just choosing to be sober. I don't drink nearly as much as I feel you think I do.

    We had a cop at my dui class talk about how they did in fact wait outside of bars and they used former convicts (usually women) to get certain targeted former dui to buy those ladies drinks, flirting with the targets and then leave with the men only to get pulled over a few blocks away. This is the kind of "reprgramming" of former convicts being used for personal use that has become a big problem of baiting that runs amuck in the states.

    When I used to drink and drive I went to the bars which were on my same street...so it was a straight run home, no turns. Set the cruise control to 38mph (the road limit is 40) and then all i had to do was concentrate on keeping the car straight.

    I remember though one time I had to stop for gas and as I pulled in there were like 3 cop cars and they were all standing by their cars talking...being drunk I didn't spot them till I'd already pulled in. I said to myself "ok you just need to walk like you are perfectly sober and not look suspicious..".

    I was paying cash and not debit so I had to go in the gas station(don't ask why...drunk)...so I got out of the car and started walking to the door trying to be casual...straight away I tripped over the raised area by the gas pump, flat on my fucking face, then I jumped up (like drunk people do) and carried on walking as if nothing happened...the cops all stopped talking and were all looking at me.

    I thought I was fucked and they were gonna get me when I pulled out after filling up...they didn't. Guess they didn't want to spoil their coffee and gas station donuts...lucky escape for me.
