Jesus. What gamestate were you at for spitting vultures to ravage your anus on day 14? Or is that just awful luck? -
2021-05-30 at 3:46 AM UTClol the vultures don't spit acid, it's the fat cops. vultures are annoying as shit, I think they buffed speed in an update at some point so you can't kite them on vehicles anymore - they'll even swarm the gyrocopter and make you crash

2021-10-29 at 7:05 PM UTCI've been playing this game for years. Seen it go through a lot of changes, and I've been miffed by some of them.
I'll start with a change I'm actually glad about: the current levelling system. It's not too dissimilar to Fallout 4's, in that you need to raise your base attributes before you can buy a perk. It even has perk magazines, some of which really are useful, like the Urban Combat magazine that lets you walk on landmines without setting them off. I'm pleased with how this aspect of the game has turned out.
But there are things I miss, such as calipers. Calipers were a gatekeeping item in earlier builds as you needed them to make bullet casings. They were also extremely rare, so you got a huge dopamine hit when you finally found them. Another is the wrench, the schematic for which can now be bought with an early perk. Finding a wrench used to be another treasure hunt. The wrench would gatekeep a lot of things, such as the workbench and the minibike, unless you were lucky enough to find a full set of minibike parts, but that never happened. The other rare item was the book "Minibikes For Dumbshits" which would let you make minibike parts. The schematics for minibike parts can also be bought with an early perk.
The game does feel too easy now. My most recent game, which I started early this year, I haven't died once in the 60 or so hours I put into it. Maybe that's just because I've played it too much, though. -

I haven't played as much as you but at least last patch I felt like I spend forever, at least three weeks of scavenging, looking for fucking steel tool schematics. Personally I really preferred things that were unlocked via skill progression over stuff that you get via RNG during scavenging. I guess it really does make the scavenging more "realistic" in some sense, and a very necessary part of the game, but I enjoyed the process of building up a sustainable and defensible base and actually being able to plan progression instead of having some super duper shit but still not being able to make a good shovel even though I'd sifted through a zillion cardboard boxes and desks and rifled through the panty drawer of every zombie cheerleader in town. I still had to just keep grinding hoping against hope the next box I opened was going to contain the thing I needed to unbottleneck the rest of my operation and no amount planning or strategizing or risk taking was going to allow me to overcome that obstacle, nothing except combing through houses praying to RNGesus could advance the game. It was like playing slot machines but with shittier graphics -
2021-10-29 at 8:54 PM UTCI don't normally do this, Lanny, because I enjoy my privacy, but can I send you a private message with a link to my Steam account in it? I wanna play with you.

2021-10-30 at 12:27 AM UTCHey, I might man, I might. Had one one of those those nights. Got a beer after work. Thought the chick who served me lookd like the dog-walker who full-on bent over and gave me a nice view of her arse. Bought vodka. Listened to music for a bit. Woke up on couch after 1am wondering what the fuck happened.

2021-10-30 at 1:10 AM UTCWhy does Manjaro suck so fucking hard? Suddenly I had no audio, so I rebooted. Then my browser greeted me with tabs I had open several days ago. Still have no audio.

2021-10-30 at 3:50 PM UTCThat audio thing was my fault. Turns out I accidentally muted the browser. I was drunk as shit.
But that tabs resetting thing has happened before. It's really annoying. What if I had guests back and suddenly I have a bunch of porn tabs open? -
