2021-05-23 at 2:05 AM UTCI just started it up the other day for the first time in a long time. I like it but haven’t invested a ton of time in it. It is indeed buggy and looks like shit but the actual gameplay is fun enough to justify it. Most the jank is tolerable, some is frustrating and detracts from the game actually being fun but I think I payed like 10 bucks for it so I really can’t complain. Never tried online, coop seems fun, pvp seems like it’d be hot garbage though.

I just played it for the first time ever, although I've owned it for god knows how long. Couldn't have summed up my feelings on it so far any better than you have. Haven't even hit day 7 yet, but I'm led to believe it is going to be... unpleasant? -

I’ve always spent the night running around trying not to get ganked. I do feel like it should be pretty easy to build a tower and just stand on top of it for the night or something but I haven’t invested in trying to game it too much since that sorta seems against the spirit of the game. -

I usually set the horde night to every 14 days now to give myself time to build up (but I also set the multiplier right up). first week you usually end up camped on a roof somewhere hoping the zombies don't punch the walls down and fuck you up, though it has become a lot easier in the last few updates since they made guns and ammo a lot more common. You can outrun them and just kite all night if you have a bike or better vehicle but I usually only do that once I've found/made enough explosives to herd them into groups and detonate them all at once -

Well, it's too late for me now. I can't just outrun the zambos (bicycles are a thing?) and there's no particularly tall buildings nearby to hide on the roof. I spent 2 days digging a trench around my little base and surrounding it with spikes and barbed wire. Fingers crossed.

Not sure if stuff was rebalanced or I just remember how to do stuff from my last time playing. But I distinctly remember running back to my base to starve to death because I couldn't gather enough food to stay alive at level 0
