2021-01-05 at 8:31 PM UTCUpdate: my lazy retard coworker on the main site I work, who doesn't do his patrols on time (he does one maybe every like 2 or 3 hours or so), has spoiled the best part of the gig: now the property management thinks we aren't doing shit so we are no longer allowed to hang out in our cars at all and have to be outside walking around all shift. Which means no more hotboxing in my car. I'll still vape weed on the job but now I'll have to do it outside on my feet. Blah.

I know this is just you being gay again but I'll take the opportunity to say what I've been thinking on to particular subject.
I really didn't start off in a way I could describe as "proud" of this gig, it's literally just a do-nothing gig where I can chill and smoke weed and work in a set timeslot on my phone.
But now I can say I genuinely am feeling somewhat proud to be doing the job. My presence seems to be having a pretty tangible positive impact on the community, so it has indeed started to be something I can feel proud of.
I have been conversating with residents and becoming friendly with them and pretty much 95% of people I've interacted with are happy I am on property. The reason is because the other 5% are real actual hood niggers who cause constant problems in the complex and invite guests onto the property who are also obnoxious hood niggers, and they don't like them either because they are dangerous and obnoxious.
For example 4 days ago there were 40 shots fired on the property in some fight over some girl. And regularly they would be out in front of their buildings in their cars blasting shitty Young Thug songs until 4 AM on weeknights, while everyone else was trying to sleep and get to work. Or offering crack to their kids.
The complex itself is the definition of "the hood" and has an awful reputation in the local police departments and security agencies. But a majority of people living there are good normal people, some are trying to raise their kids there, and they're just there as a matter of unfortunate circumstance. Incidents, noise complaints etc have apparently all gone way down since we took the contract for this complex.
So they are always nice to me and happy to see me and tell me they're glad I'm around. I didn't ask for validation but it does feel validating to know I'm helping make a difference they can actually perceive.
And thats basically without even trying and between smoking weed in my car, just walking around. -
