Not 25 cents. No, no, a quarter would have been too reasonable for Australia. 20 cents. A fifther. Euros don't come in quarters either. And has a note for 5. Our old money did have quarters and coins up to 5, including a 2.50 coin for which there is no translation or at least equivalent in English. -

You know what, it's not even a stretch to suggest the word dollar has it's roots in the dutch word 'Daalder'. Besides we didn't start WWII so we got to keep our cool words like Rijk which in actual fact does translate to Reich in German. Although it just means 'realm', as in 'the realm'. -
