My dad told me a man named Abner Doubleday invented baseball then when I got older and googled I learned he did not. Idk why the name stuck in my head but I actually just googled it and his name actually is "abner" which sounds super jewish and apparently he was a civil war soldier or something. I didn't read anything about rounders before and just believed it was like this game we called "rounders" or "pickle" as a kid. Having just googled it for the first time it sounds pretty fuckin similar to baseball. I just figured it was gonna be like how people say the mayans invented football because they used to chop heads off and wrestle each other over them and try to capture territory or something.
Rounders has a foundation of some elements of baseball (innings, number of players, pace of play, bats, balls etc fuck you) and I will grant you it probably was the inspiration for baseball. Fuck you -
