I would have grabbed that cougar in a double leg takedown and then piledrived its head into the dirt a bunch of times, until it gave up and surrendered.

the thing is, it looked like she might of just been curious and hoped for a handout with her kittens.
that weird thrashing forward actually scared me not because I thought it was a lunge forward but rather just bizarre like it turned into some Emoji character or meme. one of those weirdo meme with the long neck. it felt like it came to life

That's called a fake out. A lot of animals do it and it doesn't necessarily mean they're going to attack. It's like a dog baring its teeth or barking. It's not necessarily a sign of violence, just the cat communicating that it wants you the fuck out. It's probably wondering why he's not running/scared and is freaked out as well, trying to assess if he's a threat. They tell you don't run, and you shouldn't, but 9/10 if you do the animal will run away too. They don't wanna be near you either or fight for no reason. This cat is just curious. That's why its following him openly. If it was stalking him for real, he would be dead.

Don't ever throw rocks at a wild animal. This is a good way to get attacked. Don't run either. Damn you're stupid.
This dude did exactly what he was supposed to. Thats why he lived.
The guy in the video threw a rock at a wild animal.
