theyre entirely overpriced, considering i can do the same thing with a flatbar/prybar that costs 1/10th as much...or a 8lb ax for $50 or so

To actually discuss lockpicking, I would recommend studying South ords 14 pick set. If you can see the difference between a broken pick extractor and a half diamond you may very well be on your way.

Also why does one tension wrench have a twist in it? What's that about?

I'v been set up before. Looking into trying to extend out the investigation on it. but that only makes them fuck with you more. The problem is it happened under the Obama admin which I feel may have had something to do with it. Obama should of not let the people down, but he seemed to be an extension of the corruption of Bush. really sad. I'm not a registered dem, but I am a moderate Republican turned Independent. and I had hopes for Obama.

Is it something to do with those one pins in the tumbler that retract with a coil.. i forget how they work but they're supposed to prevent lock picking with a standard set in the last pin

well i mean its an 8lb head, but instead of just an axehead its got a sledgehammer on the other side

we use it for splitting logs into manageable pieces

edit: ok so its technical name is a splitting maul. let me see if i can get a pic

    ok here:

I read some of totse "how to" out of interest yet How in the fuck is everyone on here a seriously knowledgeable in locksmith lingo?

So everyone here has done locksmith work before? I just learned some lingo from working as a maintanance worker, Management pulling us all aside for a few hours.. here, this (box of tools) remove tumbler.. blah blah pins. mostly for door locks and deadbolts only. You guys know how to pick all kinds of shit. my guess slimjims and those puff bag (what are they called?) they use to get into cars.

Illegal as fuck to posess (at least in california unless you're a locksmith). So perhaps you guys did roadside work, tow truck or you just enjoyed Bad Idea tutorials and leared. I'v seen some youtube videos, I tried on my lock at work when I was bored one night.. before girlfriend and living out of my brothers office. didn't work, I didn't have the skills or the tutorial was BS. then there are those special coil spring pins (We didn't have when I was a Maintanance worker at a hotel) that are common now.. that keep people from picking locks. it's the last pin in the back with a spring mechanism.

You guys are talking so fluently in locksmith talk.. A: by chance you all did locksmith work, B: you're all CIA or special op trained to do so, or C: you're all safe crackers. which is it?
