Portal is our sugar daddy. He makes cool bases and has huge villager slave plantations and just tosses us enchanted diamond stuff. We really shouldn't steal from him. -

In normal skyblock, yeah. You only start with one tiny island and have to bridge to other islands. Hypixel Skyblock is different - it's more like an MMO. In Hypixel you just need to mine enough stuff to make a bridge to the portal island you start with, and then there's like a hub world you can go to. From there you focus on like... leveling skills (farming, mining, fishing, etc all have skills and exp) and learning new recipes (to make new islands and slaves and stuff) and earning coins to buy things with (like more blocks for your island).
It's weird. I like it tho. Tickles my autism juuuuust right. Like that slave mine didn't exist. I built half of it with blocks I bought in town because the island was so small. -
2020-09-04 at 12:23 AM UTCLike this is some of the gear on Hypixel Skyblock. It is sooo far removed from vanilla minecraft that it's practically not even the same game.
While there is still a healthy amount of mining and crafting, yeah... only remotely comparable to other servers and game modes out there. -
