2020-08-26 at 9:38 PM UTCwell I'm gonna change my position to "everyone except rapists/pedophiles like Jacob Blake" should not be shot in the back by police. Pedophiles are afforded different treatment by the justice system and do not deserve due process. Other than that if youre suspected of non sexual related crimes the police shouldnt be shooting you in the back in front of your kids. Fuck, kids shouldnt see that anyway really

If you don't want your kids to see this don't create situations like this in front of them with your actions.
Or do you envision something like this;
Officer 1: Lie on the ground face down with your fingers locked behind your head.
Perp: Fuck you pig. I got my kids with me. I'm going to reach in my car for a weapon.
Officer 2: OK OK you can go for now but we will be back when your kids aren't around and you are going to be so under arrest then. -
2020-08-26 at 10:09 PM UTCAfter reading his history im convinced he's just another feral offspring of a welfare momma who thought he had some god given right to ignore the police. Not that they couldn't of handled it alot better but im not about to trust the assholes intentions either.

Seems insincere when you're effectively trying to petition a higher authority to change the behaviour of the police.
This is much simpler than that though - if someone with superior firepower is giving you orders, you comply or risk getting rekt. If this guy had the capability to think more than 30 seconds into the future, he would've waited for a time when the odds weren't stacked against him to contest this.

2020-08-27 at 1:15 AM UTCSince when did society deem it was okay to resist arrest?
Since when did police doing their job become more of a problem than a criminal doing theirs?
What about the OG victims? -

Yeah, as usual this doesn't seem so cut and dry. He is a 17 year old who transported an illegal firearm over a state line specifically to agitate a crowd, displaying a firearm openly in a state where open carry is for those 18 and over. This seems stupid as well and specifically designed to provoke a reaction. Although it appears he was being attacked at various points, possible before or after he initially shot his first person, when he was on the ground, scuffling over his rifle, he shot two people while in a defensive position which should only warrant a manslaughter charge. If he was black he'd probably do life but the kid (and he is under 18) should be tried as a juvenile and receive a sentence for manslaughter (for at least one of the bodies). The shooting of the man in the stomach who survived also appears at least partly in self defence.
The problem is the kid drove hundreds of miles to a protest with an illegal firearm then drove right back. This shows premeditation and evading capture and it's likely a judge will throw the book at him for it, the same way they would throw it at a black person in the same circumstances. I was just saying it was funny he walked right past the cops with the gun around him while if he was black they definitely wouldn't have let him. They had already recived reports about gunfire too. He doesn't seem like too bad a kid who made some poor choices that resulted in tragedy. I hope he gets out of jail in a few years and can salvage some of his life. -

2020-08-27 at 2:45 AM UTCwait, what was illegal about the firearm?
also yeah I have no doubt they'll go after him hard, trying to leave the state afterwards was retarded and legally speaking he'll have a hard time justifying why he was defending someone else's private property with a rifle -

He was not with them when these incidents took place, nor were they at a gas station. That's really irrelevant and him being seen with members of an armed group he may or may not have any association with beyond their brief interactions is also irrelevant to this situation.
"Your honer I got my gun and drove a thousand miles to guard a gas station in another state" will not hold water -

In this case, the citizen did not pose a threat of death or serious bodily harm, because the subject was not armed. An unarmed suspect does not pose a "significant" threat of death or bodily harm. You are reading the decision wrong, trying to read into it something that isn't really there.

Im honestly surprised he didnt shoot more. Especially with that mob chasing him down and cracking him in the head with skateboards. Fuck em. Learn to keep your goddamn hands to yourself or make your peace with god. Kid is a hero.
