Actually Tim Burton was going to make After Hours originally but stepped down because Martin Scorsese said he wanted the Job of directing it.

What did the Monolith say on it? I thought it was a warning to Earth.. I thought there was a real one and Clarke aided in writing a fictional to play the layer game.
The Monkeys were only sequence inserts and not as much of a message of evolution from then to now. -
