What does it matter how long ago it was? I believe the last ones closed in the 80's.
Indigenous canadians are among the wealthiest americans in 2020? Well, not the ones piled into reservations.
How is systemic racism against black people invisible to you? Are all the video recordings and media showing it also invisible to you? -

have you clearly defined what you mean by 'systemic racism'? The way it's typically used is nebulous and pretty much just a reason to give a group 'victim status'. -

Some Canadian natives are balling with their tribes. They get revenue for simply sitting on the land. Their tribes have had Universal Basic Income for decades because of how prosperous they are. 100 years ago when we gave them the land it was without value. Now it's in the middle of large cities such as Vancouver.
How do you determine if an act of violence was caused by racism, or not? How do you know that George Floyd's murderers acted that way because he was black? Where is your proof of this? -

I never said anything about George Floyd.
You are right, certain members of certain tribes have been able to become financially successful. But many of them struggle with drug addiction and mental health issues, and the systemic racism their communities experienced as a group did contribute to those problems, as demonstrated earlier in this very thread. -

Please, they'd still be living in teepees. Majority of their infants would still be dying of before growing up. We brought them civilization. At the moment many choose to self segregate on their reserves. Many choose to live off the res too. And you can see the difference in the success of those that do. The natives who surround themselves with natives are unsuccessful. It's a problem with their culture, not ours. -

I understand what you're saying, but I also don't think anything in this post invalidates what I said: many of them struggle with drug addiction and mental health issues, and the systemic racism their communities experienced as a group did contribute to those problems. -

People of all races and all socioeconomic levels struggle with drug addiction and mental health issues. Where is your proof that an alleged system of racism has contributed to this one race's and one thin slice of the world's socioeconomic makeup problems with substance abuse and mental instability? -

The disparity of sentencing between crack and cocaine up until fairly recently is a good example -

Yes it's akin to if during prohibition they gave you 2 years for OE and Colt 45 while gave you 2 weeks for Old Milwaukee or Pabst.
Actually, wait, no that's not racist. That's beer-ist. But yes drug laws have been used to keep the POOR man down, not just blacks and women (who tend to correlate with poorness). Crack is poor man's coke, not black man's coke. -

Keeping the poor down is not racists but that is truly systematic. The system has been in place since the danw of civilization.

As an example many of those who attended residential schools have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, suffering from such symptoms as panic attacks, insomnia, and uncontrollable or unexplainable anger. Simply stating that other groups also have problems doesn't change the fact that the documented systemic racism experienced by these groups contributed to their problems. -
2020-08-08 at 1:47 PM UTCIt's like you're asking "where's the proof that touching a hot stove will hurt my hand? Other people have hand injuries and never touched a hot stove at all!"

But where is your proof that a system of racism contributed to this groups drug and mental health problems that all groups have? -
