Something we've never really seen is large scale conflict for wealth. Maybe a little bit with colonialism and the East India company.
There will come a day when technology and wealth will reach a point where there won't be a need for taxes or government. Like with self driving cars, I think technology like that has the potential to reduce government spending for things like traffic laws. Isn't that the point of technology to make things easier for everyone?
You wouldn't even need street signs or traffic lights which is how things used to be.
there wont be self driving cars in your lifetime because flying a plane is like 100 times easier than driving a car and yet we do not have self driving planes all these years so they wont be able to come up with reliable self driving cars anytime soon.
just search tesla crashes and see how advanced its self driving cars are. -

Except we do have self-flying planes, pilots are just there for regulatory reasons, to reassure the passengers, and in case something unforeseen happens.
The only thing stopping self-driving cars becoming universal is that people just don't want to spend the extra $5-10k that they cost right now.
There's nothing stopping you from buying a Tesla, slipping an orange under the steering wheel to simulate a human hand and bypass the safety, and safely drinking your way to your destination. -

not really no.
airplanes cant take off or land by themselves, its just too complicated. they can only fly from waypoint to waypoint in the air like NPCs.
also google tesla autopilot crashes. -

Yes they can. The modern pilot is only involved in listening to air-traffic advice and taxiing on the runway, unless he otherwise chooses.
The fuel is the major cost of aviation, followed by depreciation, marketing and maintenance, so getting rid of the pilot isn't even a priority.also google tesla autopilot crashes.
Google road traffic accident. -

not as simple as that. airport parkings, air spaces, taxes etc etc. depreciation affects almost everything, not just airplanes.Google road traffic accident.
whats the ratio of human driver-to-human driver caused accidents and tesla autopilot-to-tesla autopilot caused accidents tho. -

So airports have to pay their bills too?
Shocking.whats the ratio of human driver-to-human driver caused accidents and tesla autopilot-to-tesla autopilot caused accidents tho.
Tesla Autopilot is about 5x safer per mile than manual driving.

Of course you only hear about the Autopilot accidents - and only see the manual ones. -
2020-07-31 at 10:45 PM UTCI'm so used to a touch screen (phone) it would be interesting to have to adapt back to a non touch version. Like browsing the internet is all weird. I remember my last non touch screen phone probably around 2010 or so, and it was just much more time consuming to navigate a web page using the little arrows and whatnots on the cell phones "pad thingy." I'm sure it's easier these days but le touch screen is pretty fucking efficient in comparison I would think, no matter what.

i have lots of friend that are pilots and none of the planes they're flying and landimg are capable of self-taking off and landing. So airports have to pay their bills too?
Shocking.
airport charges is one of the major factor that affect ticket price and why budget airlines prefer to stop at 2nd tier stops that are hours away from top destinations.Tesla Autopilot is about 5x safer per mile than manual driving.
