Originally posted by infinityshock yes, its nice…but its only redeeming quality is the ability to fire military/LE AP rounds at full auto. additionally…i cant say for certain, but based on my only observation and 'feel' when shooting the select-fire and civilian version, im going to say that the military/LE rounds (all types that I fired, not just the AP) are significantly more powerful than what FN sells to the public. that being the case, unless someone can handload the 'better' performing rounds, or FN starts selling the non-AP 'better' rounds, it will be handicapped. the military rounds make the recoil feel like 'kick-slam' while the civilian ones sort of 'push-tap'…its hard to describe.
even with a spare mag, reloading isnt 'quick' compared to other magazines…but considering it has 1/3 or double…or more…of what regular calibers hold, the timing may even out.
yes, a full-auto P90 with 50 rounds of any type of 5.7xshit at CQB range would be devastating. low-recoil, easily maneuverable…even with one hand, short enough to minimize a grab-handhold, minimal sensory-disruption, (I, personally, wouldnt use a silencer indoors…the blast would be more of a distraction for anyone down-range physiologically, plus i use electronic ear-pro), would make for a good home defense gun…assuming the shooter knew enough to not send shit down-range thru their own walls into their neighbors house. the only bummer is, civilians cant own full-auto anything.
and, no, 50 rounds in the P90 on full auto does NOT last very long at all.
ive seen pogues fire full-auto hoses and NOT let go of the trigger until the mag was empty and the range lintels (posts over the range to prevent high shots from going ballistic and hitting things theyre not sposed to hit) were filled with 2/3ds of the magazine contents.
untrained pogues arent allowed to use belt-feds.
yeah, there's no point to getting a civilian version of p90.
i dunno, maybe people do just squeeze the thing down until it's dry, i envisioned inexperienced people pulling the trigger and kind of jumping when it goes off, and letting go. so 4-6 bullets per squeeze.
anyways, i'll never shoot the thing so whatever. unless they repeal the NFA. -

sometimes people that arent familiar with guns will make a tight grip in an effort to control it, which instinctively involves tightening the trigger finger... -

yeah, but the benefits of having a p90, or another automatic weapon, to my mind are outweighed by the consequences of getting fucked by the ATF's long dick. if i ever have enough money to do crazy stuff for fun i would definitely make some crank-fired turrets, which would be useful as machine guns in the zombie apocalypse or whatever. but i'll just have to make do with semi-auto, i guess.
which is fine, in a lot of ways. if the russians invaded or the government handed power over to the UN or something and i decided to join the local freedom fighters, i don't think that the kind of confrontations that automatic fire could benefit from, would be the kind of confrontations i'd want. i'd want to fire one or two accurate shots at 300 yards and then scoot, basically like what the taliban would do in afghanistan. if i can't break contact, i die.
that's just my personal speculation. truth is if they ever decided to do some crazy shit they're going to come with all-encompassing drone and robot coverage that is impossible to fight against. -

cheap russian ammo for practice and plinking...then better quality stuff for hunting and 'precision'
SKS has the ability to be fairly accurate.
for hunting practice, try your hand on vermin...like rats, squirrels, raccoons, feral things, like cats and hogs, etc. i dont know what kind of nuisance wildlife lives near you, but there has to be something that needs killing. once you have an idea how to humanely kill things you can move up to actual animals that are useful to hunt -

That reminded me of this for some reason: http://www.dukeofdefinition.com/dangerous_game.pdf

exactly.
full-auto is over-rated in the professional world and has limited use compared to semi-auto
'machine guns' were banned for a bullshit reason. its a bit complicated and legalese-heavy of an explanation, but basically the .gov banned full-auto just because they could with little to no justification. the excuse of gangsters wrecking havoc was bullshit.
id think that ammo manufacturers would want to get full-auto firearms legalized for the massive sales boost theyd get from shooters trying to feed their guns. -

2017-02-28 at 3:46 AM UTCI don't know as much as IS about guns but I do know about hunting... And the best advice anyone can give you is to start reading about game animals and where/how to shoot them.

2017-02-28 at 3:47 AM UTCI know where animals are already I just want to learn about guns.

2017-02-28 at 3:56 AM UTCYou're right, our fundamental class divisions and staggering income inequality is the major cause of violence. Cheap privately owned guns just make the situation slightly worse.
