I don't actually mind people being loud in the movies. -

2020-06-17 at 8:18 PM UTCyfw chop sticks aren't used for chopping.
The actual chinese name for them is 白痴 which means "honorable wood" but for some reason the white colonialists made a connection between kung fu and small yellow people eating with sticks and called them "chopping sticks" -

IDK it takes a lot for me to be bothered by a person. They have to intentionally be an asshole to me. People gotta eat and if they get excited by a movie and start clapping or cheering its just pointless aggravation to get mad over it so I just let it go. I've worked jobs where I'm working hard as fuck and people are just sitting talking and I don't care. I try to keep my own little space in my head. I get along with basically everyone IRL for this reason. If someone says some shit I really don't like I just stop talking to them or talk to them as little as possible.
I think I'm pretty good at blocking people out. If I'm somewhere where everyone annoys me I just stfu and escape into my head. People will say things to me and I won't hear it even if I'm right there. Everyone has selective hearing like this to a degree but I think I just turn it on more than most people. I'm used to being in my head anyway. -

You kinda chop when you grab things tho. It's a 2 way chop. Chop. Chunk of noodles. Chop. Let me get that shrimp bitch in my mouth. Etc.
I still haven't figured out how to clear my bowl with chopsticks though. Always some leftover in there that I have to basically stab out. I don't know how Asians do it. -

hold the bowl to your lips with one hand and scrap everything into your mouth with chopsticks in the other. -

That's what I do. I think my bowls just aren't good for it though. I have to use the ends to knife it into my gullet. A more tapered bowl would probably help.
I think westerners tend to have more 'soup bowls' which a spoon works just fine for. Not hard to scrape up rice with a spoon. But you can't reach it with chopsticks. -

Sounds like you're doing a lot of mental gymnastics to stay meek. -
