use a 4" angle-grinder to cut the band.
make sure to keep the blade above the metal to protect your leg. avoid touching the blade to the metal because 1. the blade will eventually cut the metal and 2. even if it doesn't cut the metal, it will heat it and burn your leg
as soon as that band is cut, it'll transmit a 'scream' to whatever company is tracking it. -

2017-02-26 at 7:57 PM UTCThere are two circuit wires which run under those raised ridges beside the square holes. If you cut the plastic, you cut the wires, which severs the circuit, which triggers the alarm.

And your IMSI catcher will just be replaying the data you intercepted earlier so the police will be none the wise.
Indeed, but the device could possibly keep track of when its opened and still send a signal after I leave the faraday cage.
But the IMSI catcher idea, sounds interesting. If I do that and then let the battery die while while wrapped in foil from a faraday cage building website...

And I did hear someone switched the sim card, in a faraday cage before. -

2017-02-27 at 10:59 PM UTCYou can't put it in a Faraday cage, because the instant the remote receiver ceases to receive the encrypted signal, the alarm is tripped, and a home visit ensues.

2017-02-28 at 12:02 AM UTCI'd say the only way would be to get another identical ankle bracelet, then use a scanner to collect the SIM card information wirelessly from the first bracelet, without actually removing it, and then program that information onto a blank SIM card in the second bracelet, then destroy the first SIM card.

2017-02-28 at 12:05 AM UTCProbably have to spoof the MAC ID of the first bracelet onto the second bracelet as well, or the SIM card might detect the hardware ID change.
