I saw a news clip where they said Ireland is doing well in flattening the curve. They praised Ireland for their quick action to fight this. Sounds like it is working therešš»

Well it was on the news so it must be true.
This is exactly what they said about Singapore. Look at its new cases the last couple days.

However based on all the news about asymptomatic cases making up a majority of cases now, I strongly suspect that Corona is evolving to be less severe now.
Which suits - if severe cases stay at home while less severe cases get transmitted, that's what you would expect. -

Iām undecided on my thoughts of this. Have a country go through a quick peak and get it over with, or have a long drawn out curve that keeps the virus ongoing for quite some time. The former would crash our medical system, then thereās no one there to take care of us.
I think asymptomatic people are the biggest threat, they are spreading it to God knows how many people before they become symptomatic.
I 100% believe we will be dealing with this till we have a vaccine. Sucks, but I believe thatās the case. -

Working a lot, but staying rested. Hell, this old lady has to get her restš.
Right now our hospitals are beginning to fill up, so weāre getting Covid patients in our outpatient centers. People are scared to go to a hospital for fear of catching the virus, so they come to us. Iāve built up my PPE pretty good. My friendās mom made me caps to keep my hair covered. My husband got me goggles that fit over my glasses, he also found me some N95s. Iām just saying Iām always skeptical when a country praises itself for something.
They even said in your article the UK went into lockdown before Ireland did. Iām guessing that their lack of cases compared to the UK has much more to do with differing physical features rather than the governmentās response. Ireland has a much lower population density where everyone lives in mountains and farms and shit, whereas in England people are packed like sardines into large urban centers.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

Thereās so much misinformation out there.
This states that Ireland went into lockdown starting with schools and colleges on March 12th.

how states will be handling this?^ on an individual basis? Some states are recuperating quicker than others. Will all the nation have/need be vaccinated? or will some just, naturally, be recovering like with the flu- w/o any vaccinations?
I'm a bit hesitant in keeping the entire Nation completely "closed" until a "cure" or vaccine is made/found.
I just "feel" that we need to get our country back up & running again. Not that I'm wanting to be unsympathetic or obtuse.. but, I think/feel that "natural selection" is how we will, eventually, have to let it all play out- moving forward.
we do/must move on, shouldn't we?
*I haven't done much research into the 'median' ages of the fatalities? anyone know these stats from 'reliable' sources? -

That's true - and Ireland shares a long and porus land border with the UK in terms of Northern Ireland. So we had our schools closed, while just down the road the Northerners were doing nothing.
But we didn't close the airports, and we had a lot of flights coming in from Northern Italy - there was a Rugby game scheduled for that time, and even though it was cancelled (very much against the wishes of the IRFU Rugby guys - scumbags) lots of the Italians visited anyway, cos they had flights and hotels booked so why not?
And we also had lots of people coming home from skiing in the alps. Corona took off like crazy among healthcare personnel, as many of those skiers were Nurses. -

Oh Iām aware that itās more prevalent in some areas more than others. I didnāt say we should wait for a vaccine to open the country, I just think itāll be around that long, and weāll all have to learn to live with it until then.
Reopening is going to be hard. New York seems to be on the downside; but what other hot spots are going to pop up? There will be many many more. Almost seems like there will be states that reopen, then will have to be shut down again.
Having said all that, I do not think we should reopen till we have a broad swath of testing. -

Itās on the world news because some Irish professor lady sent out a bunch off tweets about it, and the chief medical officer of the Irish department of health made a statement praising the governmentās response the other day. All Irish sources.
But anyway like you said this is here to stay for a while and there will be other waves until a vaccine comes out. So this is all moot -
