The purpose of this stimulus is to provide a fiscal stopgap and that's it. There will not suddenly be bread and circuses going on. This is one thing and one thing only: a big dynamic pause button.
It is for allowing payments so people and businesses aren't evicted, closed etc while waiting this out. That's the thing. Economically, the only thing that has changed is that people are not allowed to congregate. This is not the 2008 crash or a regular depression. That's the key. The only problem is fiscal, which is what this addresses. Next year people's tax returns will be garnished and recovery will begin off the corporate end.
They're obviously not printing physical money for this whole bailout, it's creating an influx of cash from the public side that's going to have repercussions, the issue is whether it mitigates the losses.
It's not a real stopgap because it can't be filled completely. This is a classic Keynesian fix that is temporary and after things go back to normal you're going to see inputs, products and services costing more to offset lost revenue and cover the costs of new logistic and supply chains. It's going to cause inflation to rise at a higher rate Year on Year than expected and the trumpbux may in fact offset this. Production costs are going to rise, employers will feel obligated to hire workers back with the same stagnant wages. Consumer prices have raised in some areas just since the crisis happened, it's pretty clear to see this is going to spread across many sectors. Thankfully there have been some mandated rent freezes and other measures to offset this
Mark my words inflation will be at a higher rate than last year

That’s exactly what they’re doing you invalid paki fuck.
Neel Kashkari, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis:Scott Pelley (CBS News): Is the Fed just going to print money?
Neel Kashkari: That's literally what Congress has told us to do. That's the authority that they've given us, to print money and provide liquidity into the financial system. And that's how we do it. We create it electronically. And then we can also print it with the Treasury Department, print it so that you can get money outta your ATM.
