If he's really feeling like a big brain bad boy he uses his phone wifi and tethers without a sim card, which are impossible to triangulate because everyone knows even phones without a SIM never ever ping of towers for emergency services, and IMEI and IMSI are fake, it's made up. The aliens told him that, or i should say God rather but for Spectral those are the same(He actually believes that). And since IMSI doesn't exist it follows that IMSI catchers are a myth as well.
