Before then, Governments were basically just a corporation expected to make money in their own way. For most of human history, taxes were collected only from the wealthy. The poor couldn't afford it.
Over the last 200 years, tax on the middle and lower classes became a thing.

Cops in other countries do not just immediately taze or whip out their guns. Weapons are only used when others present weapons. Floyd was unarmed. They searched him already. What would've happened if they let him up when he was begging and saying he couldn't breathe? Worst case scenario is that they get punched or some shit. Maybe he runs away. Either way its better than someone losing their life.
Seriously, modern police are so fucked up. If you showed the founding fathers a police officer from 2021, they would think they were a soldier. -

It wasn't his heart. It was strangulation, which caused the heart damage. You'll notice the official coroner's report did not even mention the neck but did mention bruising on the face/shoulders/chest. Looking at the footage, it's pretty fucking clear this dude had his knee on Floyd's NECK for 9+ minutes.
Why didn't the original coroner report (done by the police dept Chauvin works for) mention this damage?
What drugs he took didn't matter. Chauvin did not handle this well. They had 3 or 4 dudes and could've easily restrained this dude in a different way. It would help if police actually had a federal standard for training instead of every police department basically deciding to teach officers whatever the fuck they want, then giving them powers.
You know, like other professions do?
Again, no way Chauvin gets out of this. If anybody wants to make bets I will. -

Unlike Trump, he probably does actually care for America on some level, like pretty much every president. Even Nixon was fighting for a white Christian America. Trump only fought for himself.
NV Democrats just won big, with social democrats taking 100% of the seats. I fully expect this trend to continue over the next decade at least, just like it did after the Great Depression, or Europe when they rebuilt after WW2. Democrats success, as always, 100% depends on their willingness to stop being conservatives and start enacting actual decent policy like a NHS or tax funded education. -

You should get into CBD bud. Not sure how the market is there, but here you can get an oz for easily under 30 and I know places that sell half lbs for around the same price. Bulk hemp was selling for 50 cents an lb last year. The market is CRAZY saturated with legal growers since 2018 with our Tax Act that effectively created a federal legal framework for selling hemp(the only good thing Trump signed.)
Get your tolerance lower, get some high CBC or high CBG stuff for fun, save a lot of money.
Right now there's even stuff that hits like 10% THCa which is somehow still legal and available to purchase in all 50 states. Which is fucking nuts because 10% THCa would be illegal if it was coming from cannabis and not hemp. They effectively just legalized weed here, especially with delta8.
I honestly don't know how any self respecting stoner could just stick to shitty expensive delta-9 products when there is a world of different stuff to try. Cannabinoid conversion is a MASSIVE game changer. They could easily make delta-9 THC for cents per gram from hemp/cannabis but they aren't because its illegal.
Wait like 10 years and you'll see that this shit is going to take over and make weed very very cheap for consumers. Right now the capitalists are having their go of things without too much saturation. A lot of cannabis laws have been specifically created to reduce competition. Especially in my state where to get all the permits/bidding minimum/dept of agriculture bonds/etc you need like 2 million minimum.
It really is like a little microcosm of what the weed market could be without all these laws and (capitalist) regulations. -

It's good that you haven't held your grandson yet.
I mean, not 'good' but that is a HUGE temptation and it takes a strong will to keep away. It's not worth the risk of fucking up your grandson's body for life. I have some nieces I haven't seen since Christmas 2019 except for once during an emergency last spring.
I'm waiting on some medical files to be sent over that SHOULD allow me to get the vaccine. They're giving it out like crazy in the city, but here in the burbs they're dry as fuck.
I would legitimately pay a few thousand to get the shot right now. I'm willing to get a job as a bagger or something for a month if it'll qualify me sooner. -
