2021-01-29 at 12:52 AM UTC in Hey Hiki is Blockbuster actually making a comeback? That would be wonderful if they made a comeback.
Originally posted by livingelegy That's fuckin retarded, blockbuster is not coming back, they're just going to open another streaming service on top off this massive clusterfuck pile of streaming services already out there
Nah you're an idiot
The only way they would be a streaming related sevice is if they became a production studio ans started making movies and original episodic series.
That could be a strong possibility.
You can't rule out the possibility of them coming back as a video rental store.
Family video is still a thing and people still use redbox.
Not everyone likes to steam and there are several reasons why a physical store is better. -

Originally posted by livingelegy KDE is a piece of fail-ridden AIDS. It's even worse than the new touchscreen-centric Gnome versions, and those are God-awful.
If stock Ubuntu pisses you off try Lubuntu, it's Ubuntu running under a lightweight desktop environment with a conventional Windows XP style start menu and windowed program interface.
IIRC there are weird little shortcuts on Ubuntu that do things like close apps or open new instances if you do things like making a mouse gesture on the corner of the screen, so you might want to look into that if you don't want to bother with installing a whole new DE.
Still, I can't recommend Lubuntu enough. It's design is incredibly barebones so it's gentle on RAM and there's none of this desktop dock or fullscreen app list bullshit.
I thought you were pretty stupid but you've redeemed yourself a little bit.
Xfce and LXDE are the only good desktop environments.
Gnome used to be wondeful but then they destroyed it around 2010 for some reason. -

I found KDE to be relatively intuitive and easily customisable when I last used it a few years back.
My understanding is that GNOME went way off the deep end, and only seems to be alive because Red Hat pump money into it.
IIRC you can just install kubuntu-desktop as a package, then when you restart it will appear on the drop down list.
lol kde

Originally posted by Lodger Free I'm pretty sure that's the Hyatt. there is one in San Francisco with that indoor fountain-river thing. I'm told the water isn't circulated from a water line but rather it's the real spring source that trickles out from San Francisco. it's a type of artesian aquifer well under the city that purifies out the sea water or collected from rain water. the city has never allowed any company to tap into the resource out of fear of polluting it but it's also used in some "esoteric" religious groups (Like Church of Satan or SET?)
Why would they allow the temple of set to use that resource?
