  4. I've been thinking about it 🤔 and it seems it I take box B then box A is gone FOREVER, I deprive anyone els from being able to choose it so so I like the idea of that ( especially knowing what I know now, that doing so will make anyone who plays after me a Millionair e. But it's a little bit unclear how much of this info we would get upfront honestly

Cause this could be one of those things where you're like kr0zes dad saying "Doug... You're trying to outsmart the game and pick an option that doesn't exist, just play the game by the rules.. "

You know I’ve seen the neet/monk comparison a lot but they’re closer to opposites than analogues. For one most monks aren’t isolated, they may not be part of civil society but they have near constant social interaction with other monks. But more importantly a monk’s raison d'etre is external to themselves, a religious devotion to something, whereas a NEET is almost always engaged constantly in a very basic kind of hedonism, as we can see from the op. Which is kinda ironic because monks tend to be pretty happy people and NEETs are well… NEETs.

There are plenty of good ways to live that aren’t modern civil society, but I think they’re all going to involve other people in some manner.

    Jeez
    It’ll be two decades soon
    Goddamn
    Fuck
Most people can’t even comprehend that, what it’s like to live outside society and indoors for so long
I laughed pretty hard at the stories of people killing themselves over the corona lockdowns

I’m sitting here drinking beer and listening to smooth jazz and I started thinking about this

Someday it’ll be 30 years then 50 years

    I have no regrets

My only regret is never having any real friends or a social life
Loneliness sucks but eventually you get used to it, having cats really helpS

Someday maybe it’ll be the norm to live like this and people will only ever interact with ai

Do you normies even have any concept of what it’s like to be inside this long
    I’ll tell you
    It’s actually pretty nice
Everything I need is here in my room
The flesh net is totally overrated and boring there is nothing to do out there

The greatest most important thing in the world is your imagination
This is what people in solitary confinement don’t understand and why they go insane

I’ll write a book on this someday and on the power of imagination and visualization

he's actually from a different planet, the vanguard to an alien war host meant to infiltrate human society and prepare it to accept brutal colonisation

he accidentally put his human costume on wrong though and now everything is very confusing for him

I'm pretty disconnected from call it traditional beliefs. Never learned to speak cree (nīhithawīwin) or spent any time around my fam up north.

That said over the last 2 years, I'm sure you guys have noticed lol I've been a drift.

After a bunch of adverse experiences and spooky synchronous omens Ive tuned into some weird esoteric realm. This path should have killed me but I literally pull 777 when shit gets real.

The links to native spirituality is heavy with my connection to eagles and bears.

Then there's weird incorporations from various sources. Catholic, Gnostic, Judaism, Philosophy, Masonic Art, Writings of mystics and philosophers.

It kinda crystallized into this strange outlook and put me in tune with some odd magic.

Numbers, Colours, the flow of traffic, faces, noises.

All stimuli fused into reads. Some creepily accurate.

Then again maybe I'm just like Paul in dune and need to lay off the spice or the sauce or something.

Basically the whole time I've been posting on totse and affiliated message boards I've been under court/government imposed restrictions on my freedom, making things like drinking alcohol, leaving my house, not notifying officials of exact times of medical appointments and leaving my city subject to periods of incarceration which I have endured over the past 15 years. It's been entirely my doing and I can't blame anyone but myself but I'm also acutely aware of the cold steel wheels of beurocracy that prefer you to lie in the track so they can trample you, leaving a mangled corpse in its wake. I like to think I sidestepped it a little and only suffered some minor injuries but honestly the scars will take a while to heal.

This is my last day under such conditions and I would like to thank all of you for helping me cope all these years. A special thank you to Lanny for starting and maintaining this place. We all post here for our own reasons and collectively you have all helped me more than you know and I hope I've helped someone a little bit too.

I hope this place is one day given the recognition it deserves

The relation exists by fiat, because you set those conditions for receiving compensation. That makes you the psychopath because you could as easily improve someone else's condition without any need for asshole stabbing. Unlike children, where there's just no way to make a kid without them having to endure some level of negative utility. I'm sure if parents had some way to have children such that they'd never have to suffer most parents would elect to do that, but they don't, so it becomes _necessary_ to hazard suffering for a life worth living. It is not necessary to stab someone in the asshole in order to give them a billion dollars.

If it's a bad analogy, it's a bad analogy because childbirth is possibly the only example of an act of cruelty which can be completely sublimed and washed clean from one's slate. Bad things have infinite value in all other transactions. For every other act of cruelty, every other negativity we inflict upon another, there is no amount of good which society accepts as completely absolving one of that cruelty. Steal a stick of gum and donate a billion dollars to charity? You still stole that gum.

Wrong. Again, see medical interventions that carry risk of injury, you may injure someone but if it's actually necessary in order to deliver the intervention then we consider it permissible. What's not OK is saving someone's life and then hacking off a limb because hey, losing a limb is better than dying. The difference is whether or not you have agency in dealing the injury in the process of perusing that person's welfare.

Further, re: the gum case, there's a difference between legal systems and moral judgements. Yes the legal system will (or at least should, by its own principles) prosecute petty theft carried out by large scale philanthropists, not because it passes judgement on the total moral person of the philanthropist, but because uniformity of prosecution is necessary to the penal system being an effective deterrent to crime. Many people would agree that, be it via utility calculus or the tally of St. Peter, significant acts of good do ameliorate wrongdoing to some extent. There are other cases, e.g. theft of food to feed one's family, where nearly everyone would agree the outcome (family not starving) softens the severity of the crime. And again, agreement is broader there exactly because in such cases theft may be necessary to sustaining ones family.

Create a being so it can suffer immeasurably and also possibly experience all the joys of life? WELL, you see, the joys of life completely justify whatever happens. If even 1% of that child's life is happy, it doesn't matter if you birthed a soul who will get nuggetized and raped for 40 years before having their throat slit.

Who is this directed at? I agreed with you a post or two ago that many lives are not worth living. There absolutely is a level of suffering at which point the potential rewards of life are simply not commensurate. The idea of yours I take issue with is that _any_ amount of suffering makes a life not worth living, or indicts parents as a category.
