His mother, father and sister have all given up on him. I'm the only one willing to help him anymore.
Yeah I know I should offer him a place to stay but I'm in a one bedroom in a skyscraper with my wife and it's crowded enough as it is.
At least I'm not like his piece of shit dad, who literally won't let his own son camp on his 3 acre property within walking distance. -

Thinking about getting a hand out and not really giving a fuck if I deserve it or not. You want to do better than your parents? That's cool man, do you. I don't really care to measure myself against anything but my own happiness whatever form or fancy it takes. And a lot of my interests don't require money.
It's not about doing my parents in a "fuck you mom and daaad!!" way. It's about them having shitty lives and me not wanting that life for myself. Where as Obbe is probably comfortable living worse than his parents, because the bar is higher.

I hate on him for having parents that helped him out and then saying "hey maaaaaan, financial success isn't everything, I smoke weed all day and don't work hard at all, and I have my own place, so like, what's the big deal?".
Some of us have to work so that we can live better than our parents, and not slack off because we can afford to live worse than them.

Question for you my progressive transvestite friend - why are racial categories sometimes "nebulously defined", and sometimes not?

Ditto with "anti-semitism", there's no hand-wringing about who is and isn't jedi. Progressives seem to know exactly what the racial categories are in these situations.
Anyway, let's say I use the same definition Harvard uses when selecting people for admission based on their race. Or maybe what the South African government does to financially penalize their white minority. Just to set some parameters about who or who isn't white, and avoid this pointless bickering. -
