Help a nigga out if you can obbe, as we don't all fare so well :)
I don't hate an Obbe for having parents that help him out.
I hate on him for having parents that helped him out and then saying "hey maaaaaan, financial success isn't everything, I smoke weed all day and don't work hard at all, and I have my own place, so like, what's the big deal?".
Some of us have to work so that we can live better than our parents, and not slack off because we can afford to live worse than them.
Same with §m£ÂgØL. Good for him for having a successful family. Shame on him for pissing away his intergenerational wealth, then acting like he's accomplished something. -

2020-10-02 at 1:22 AM UTCwow what a gay tryhard thread
The only thing interesting is the question of whether money buys happiness and the answer is definitely not, money only gives you one way why you are not unhappy; the freedom from financial burdons. A wise man once told me the best thing about money is not having to worry about money as anyone who grew up poor can attest.
It just sucks to be poor and there is a novelty to having more money than you know what to do with. In those and every shade in between therr exists anxiety, depression, anger, jealousy, midlife crisis' etc and all the money in the world doesnt cure those in and of itself.
So basically this is one of CByour patented "suibrags" (aka committing "bragicide") where you brag about the fact that you dont feel like committing suicide for a vapid and fleeting reason. Good for you man, I hope you dont want to commit suicide again tomorrow.
I hope you are proud of yourself and stop giving a fuck how much others think of you, unless thats the sole motivating force in your life pushing you forward, in that case, and all casea youre a fucking faggot -
2020-10-02 at 1:22 AM UTCDude.... I would agree with him and I'm squatting in a room, haven't drove my vehicle in 2 months, smoking meth and listening to music.
Thinking about getting a hand out and not really giving a fuck if I deserve it or not. You want to do better than your parents? That's cool man, do you. I don't really care to measure myself against anything but my own happiness whatever form or fancy it takes. And a lot of my interests don't require money. -

It's not about doing my parents in a "fuck you mom and daaad!!" way. It's about them having shitty lives and me not wanting that life for myself. Where as Obbe is probably comfortable living worse than his parents, because the bar is higher.
Anyway I wish you all the best. Hope you sort that meth out man... not a good road to go down, seen way too many people go down it. -

I'll sort it out, now's not the time tho. Rather be high while in IDless limbo. although I could exercise a little more agency, and take a bit more concrete future oriented actions, I'd rather just take it easy while I take care of the basics of getting back on the farm.
That said... this past year changed me, lowered a few thresholds, came with a few lessons. And I'm glad I took this route. I'd rather find some peace, quiet and stability now tho. -

I was literally having this conversation with a friend of mine yesterday about how we have made more in the last year than either of our parents did combined growing up. It's mostly nice because seeing your parents fight about money then knowing that will likely never be something you will have to do: Feelz gud man
I think freedom and fulfillment are the closest indicators of happiness as far as I can tell, at least in my personal experience. "Fulfillment" includes human interactions and Love too because that's a hole you just gotta fill, Jack -

You don't have to prove to anyone that you are better than your parents. Just live your life, stop caring what anyone thinks about you, stop comparing yourself to your parents. It seems like it is a great weight you carry with you. Just let it go.
I am content and happy with my life. I do work hard, every day. So what if I like to smoke a joint when the work is done? So what if my parents gave me help in life? You would have to be a real bitter and twisted person to see that as something to hate.
This is what chasing after "success" does to a person. You will never feel satisfied living like this. Instead you create these narratives about other people, strangers you do not even know, lying to yourself about them and comparing yourself to this false characterture you have created, and then working yourself into a state of hatred over it. This is not a healthy way to be. It's really too bad parents like yours are allowed to have children. -
