Bill Bill Krozbyby has terrible spending habits, I don't know how much his rent is and don't care, I think he lives in a house by himself in a major city, so he's clearly gonna spend a lot of his checks on rent unless his parents own it or something. He's an alcoholic who eats cheesesteaks and pizza every day, smokes weed, does other drugs, so yeah that's gonna cost a lot, and he's not a WAITER he's a barback, so of course he gets a smaller cut of the tips than a waiter or a bartender.

That's beside the point. Of course you figure it out. But it's the institutions which made it this way in the first place. There was a big push in the early 1900's to create legislature which would put more money in the hands of business owners, which is what tipping does. Should be noted that paying your employees less than minimum wage is ILLEGAL in most of the world.
Average waiter/waitress only earns about 25k a year, which is right around the poverty level depending on where you are. And a good percentage of them are only making 17-20k a year. So yeah, plenty of people struggling. The people you knew probably just didn't talk about it. It's a good job if you're uneducated but it's still not livable and that's why people generally try to get out of the food service industry.

Do you not remember Bill Krozby just a few days ago posting about how he barely made anything, and also that his boss wasn't willing to comp him so that he was making AT LEAST minimum wage? Remember that?
How the fuck can you say people aren't struggling. Maybe you aren't, because you live in a cheap area and don't have any kids. But plenty of people are struggling working as waitresses/waiters.
Also lol @ 'get a better/another job'. Sure, let's blame it on the people and not the institutions that made it this way. -

I mean, I hate people who bitch at work like that, but it's a genuine concern. Tips could be the difference between you making minimum wage or a living wage.
As a rule I tip 15% unless they were just plain terrible. -

Non-religious and non-business related tourism to Saudi Arabia is very low. I'm not surprised they're trying to get people to visit. -

In fact if everyone just stopped tipping, businesses would be forced to pay a normal wage for servers just like they do for everyone else not making tips. If that doesn't seem right, then places should start doing tip sharing and giving a percentage to the cooks/dishwashers who more often than not end up making less than the servers do on any given night, despite working longer and harder.
Fucking servers goddamn FAGGOTS. :D

This is why we need nationalized healthcare. I get it's not 'free healthcare' but nobody with a brain believes it is. I am willing to pay more in taxes if it means I can get medical care whenever I want. 70% of Americans agree with me.
I've done shit like pull my own stitches before. I've also ordered antibiotics and antifungals to avoid going to a doctor with no insurance. I nearly lost a tooth recently because I was having trouble finding a dentist willing to do a root canal on it (had a weird curve that made it difficult.) I ended up paying out of pocket. I'm lucky I had the money.
I'm also kind of lucky I have a congenital condition which allows me to get 'free' healthcare from the government (I'll have to pay it back eventually.) Selection is VERY limited and a real pain trying to find a doctor, really. This is all thanks to Obamacare. Before this I did not have insurance for years and plain did not go to doctors. Before this year I hadn't seen a dentist since I was like 12.
Really feel bad for anyone struggling with affording medical care. My advice to OP's friend is to suck it up and deal with the robocalls, because it is the only way you can get help.
And even still, I'm at risk of losing my healthcare every year when I have to reapply. Maybe I'll lose it by November this year, who knows. I only had 3 weeks to re-apply lol. Last year I missed the deadline and they THANKFULLY renewed it anyway. I probably won't lose it but it's still a worry. I'd rather just pay more in taxes. -
