   Ya except there is a coded date on every tire and your probably buying tires with good tread but at the end or already past that date. That date is something all mechanics (a very good friend owns a big shop) told me not to play around with if you value your life. They dry rot and most of the time a dry rotted tire fails at high speeds and almost never fails at low speeds. The consequences are catastrophic.
