The thing is Ray Tracing isn't just a rendering engine..It's truly slow. It's used more for realistic reflection and shadows. He is using a trademark name raytracer (which yes, once more a friend of Hunter created it)
There are dozens of rendering engines out there. Some free plugins for lghtwave and blender and 3D'S max and Maya..etc.
No way is it the real raytrace brand. Way to fucking slow. On some of the fastest PC it can take hours for one 1900x1080 frame let alone 4k which is what? 4000x5000 ish?
