You're mad and it feels like the right thing to do whatever the "purest" form of whatever it is would do. If you haven't taken up a specific social identity, you probably won't act the same way, but you might if you did.
And it applies to everyone. But you just might not have taken up a particular social identity, so how it applies to you specifically is unique. The issue is not really individuals but the numbers. If any given person has a 2% (or whatever) chance of being incited to any particular behaviour, and you have a crowd of 2000 people around around you, it gets out of control real fast. -

That's not why it starts or flares up. Same as the 2011 riots in the UK. The fact that you can steal a stereo is really irrelevant as a cause, and more as part of what is allowable within the identity. The same exact people might not steal anything in their whole lives but for that situation. -

Where you act on the basis of your social identity, you essentially act interchangeably with others of the same identity, as exemplars of that identity. So when you see that someone who is supposedly part of your identity doing something while you are identifying with them, there's some chance that you could think better of it but there's a high chance that you add that behaviour to the identity.
Agent provocateurs are hired for just these reasons... If you place 10 people in the right spots in crowd or mob and have them shout just the right things, you can fuck shit up REAL quickly for that demonstration. -
