No, it doesn't. And it shouldn't. The metagame should be about the playing of the game, there is no metagame to drugs. You take drugs as necessary to improve your performance. Unless you're suggesting some sort of drug counterplay will form, which again will simply not be part of the game.

Combine that with the fact that stimulant drugs in the levels that are likely to be useful mental contests are probably reasonably safe (you're not playing your best chess game when you're tweaked out, you're probably taking about the level that people take when being treated for ADHD) I think there's at least a case to be made for allowing them in chess.

I got started on a longer reply but I realize you're just being an edge lord so I'm gonna keep it simple.
I don't mind if there's a separate PED division (shit I bet it would be very successful, people would go crazy watching the superman leagues).
But if sportsmen in any way get put in a position where they need to take PEDs to compete, it immediately ruins the integrity of the game.
The metagame shouldn't include your opponent's Adderall cycle. -

PEDs can be pretty significantly harmful, allowing them would turn sports into a contest of who is willing to shave the most years off their lifespan. Even if you're the best sportsman out there but the field is dirty, you will lose, so you have to engage in PEDs too. For example with Lance Armstrong, the top like 25 other dudes testing positive for roids in cycling too, and ALL of them cited the fact that everyone else was doing it so they felt compelled to too.
And that's actually the tragedy of doping: somewhere out there, the best cyclist of our era is sitting unrecognised. And that will continue to be the case if doping is allowed because then the best cyclist will be whoever is willing to push their system to the limit or even beyond it for a taste of glory. You still have to be a damn good cyclist of course, but PEDs are a big enough performance favtor that if two people are totally equal but one pushes themselves harder on PEDs, that dude is gonna win. Eventually the "championship factor" will just be the drug cycle. -
