Originally posted by Ensign §m£ÂgØL For clarification, China does vote, but its hierarchical. So the town committee votes for the mayor, the mayor votes for district head, etc. Regular people cannot vote unless they get a job in politics. Chinese people believe this is good, because they have educated people making the decisions for them. Though I've no doubt that the process is rife with corruption.

2018-07-29 at 7:18 PM UTC in Why in the fuck do tvs have cameras and microphones built in?
Originally posted by Grimace Yes. That has been a thing here for quite awhile now. Every intersection has cameras that face you, to record your face and away from you to record your license plate number as you pass under. There is an escape, but you essentially have to completely abandon 21st century life and live in the woods.
the woods too will be full of cameras set up by ''conservationists'' to track ''animals''.
for ''researches'' purpose. -

Originally posted by Grimace They will boot, at least, any one I have come across will. That goes for smartphones, TVs, laptops, etc. The cam/mic is deemed as NOT ESSENTIAL, so it passes POST and the OS generally lets it boot. However, that isn't to say that a firmware "update" couldn't introduce such measures to ensure the cam/mic is always attached.
We can take certain measures to lessen the watch of "BIG BROTHER", but in an interconnected world, we're being "watched" somehow no matter what we're doing. When we use our grocery store member card, when we use public transit with some sort of transit program card, when we use our credit cards, when we browse websites online, just by owning a smartphone and the apps that have permissions to listen to the mics and activate the cameras, the shows that we watch on TV, etc.
You'd have to only work for pay in cash, only use cash, not have a bank account, no credit card, no smartphone, no computer or internet, no grocery discount/member card, no public transport pass/card, etc. Live in the woods, generating your own electricity by solar panels you installed to the roof, your own well you dug and tapped with a pump, and grow your own vegetables/manage your own livestock. Then you never see your family, go into town for supplies with a disguise on each time and never on a schedule. That's the only way you could even begin to touch on being truly anonymous.
in the city im living in they have started installing cameras in every intersections and junctions years back.
theres no escape. -

not at all.
normally after i wash my mug i fill it up with hot water and stir for a few seconds before emptying.
the reason i do this is becos i want my soup spoon, which i use to scoop my instant coffee out of its jar be completely dry
but im sure the process kills microbes as well. ive been just fine all these years so -

Originally posted by infinityshock i know people like that. when they get their coffee it has to have exactly something-something-point-something mgs exactly of sugar and measurement of milk…creamer…whatever…measured to two decimal places.
ive dumped multiple packets of whatever sweetener the person dislikes into their unattended coffee cups before and they didnt even notice.
another ridiculous trait of some coffee drinkers is to not wash their mug/cup. there was a dude on the ship i was on that had a plastic mug that held about 30 ounces of coffee that he filled up in the morning and then again at lunch time. the entire time we were on a six month deployment he didnt wash it once…and he said he hadnt washed it since he first bought it. i looked inside it a few times and there was always a nasty grungy sludge at the bottom. he claims that helps flavor the new coffee. sick fuck.
another special flavor some coffee drinker are introduced to when their behavior merits such things is called 'dirty dicking.'
my 16oz mug is also like that. but thats becos im lazy and i only wash it with my bare hands and water unless it became tainted like lizerds dropping into it etc etc then i wash it with washing liquid and scouring pad. -

Originally posted by Grimace Coffee is a lot like beer in the respect that there is a culture of people who strictly drink fresh, French-pressed, roasted and grinded bean coffee akin to the craft brew faggots of the world. when you say people drink coffee due to the sway of caffeine irregardless of whether their normal or decafed coffee,
your essentially implying that. -
