2019-04-08 at 6:41 AM UTC in My mom seriously, unironically wants to move to Japanand before you go "it's so difficult. plus some people don't want to hire foreigners"
I have been aware of that forever and it is the reason I'm weary about going to Japan.
The cost of living and having to work so much is what would draw me away from it so I'll only go if I find a way to make major shekels on my own over the internet
so anyways
what are some great locations for living in if you're a gaijin?
should I avoid tokyo -
2019-04-08 at 6:39 AM UTC in My mom seriously, unironically wants to move to JapanMy mom is into new age stuff so I'm sure she could find work with spiritualists in some small or city
me ... I'm not exactly sure what I would do maybe I would find a job in Tokyo at a record store or wherever my specialty would be being able to communicate with foreigners
maybe I should learn German and other languages too so I can act as their translator -
2019-04-08 at 6:37 AM UTC in My mom seriously, unironically wants to move to JapanShe thinks oriental people are very nice and loves the aesthetics and culture.
Are there any cities or towns in Japan that could be affordable to us if we're both working decengt jobs and are accommodating to gaijin? -

2019-04-08 at 5:37 AM UTC in Anyone here from TOTSE or Zoklet?I used to post on totse from 2002/3 to 2005.
Went by many names since I kept getting banned, I think the last one I used was something like "Mafiaaz".
That place was literally my whole entire life back then, I worshipped TOTSE.
The lit erotica section changed my life. -

Originally posted by Technologist Yes, those places would be nice if you went outside OP. If you’re just gonna stare at them, you have the internet. Getting out and enjoying what a city has to offer is what makes a city worth living in. Hell, you can put posters of the cities in the windows of your house or RV.
I should install a window sized monitor and then have somebody set up a webcam for me in NYC and broadcast it live to my windowscreen -
2019-04-07 at 7:29 PM UTC in This is computer generatedWe will probably have this sooner than you think in 2D form thanks to VR.
HMDs require a ton of processing power, the computer has to render the environment to two separate images in realtime at resolutions of 1280 x 1440 per eye in 90fps + all the fancy graphics.
With that said Nvidia and AMD will work their asses off to create GPUs capable of rendering graphics on par with Star Citizen for VR, if you take that kind of processing capability I don't see why you couldn't render the OP in realtime at at least 30fps within three to five years. -

2019-04-07 at 6:55 PM UTC in The western United States is garbageIt's ugly
barren
depressing
so many shytskins
The cities are just small towns all grouped together
California is the biggest cesspool I have ever visited
everything outside of the cities is completely barren and lifeless
it looks like something from a post apocalyptic movie
Meanwhile in the east we have:
Indiana and the midwest for comfy European living
Great lakes region of Michigan
Florida
New York City
north east
East Virginia
There are so many trees and grass and it's so green and beautiful
Predominately European outside the cities
The west:
The East:
- my hometown btw

2019-04-07 at 6:26 PM UTC in my day in picturesNo we're just renting it.
The renter doesn't do rent to own so if I want to buy the house I'll need to come up with the money, which wouldn't be too impossible if I start with career coding now.
I probably have at least four to five years here before I head anywhere else.
My okaasan and I are talking about either living in an RV and traveling across the country or moving to Hawaii.
Which option sounds better?
