Congress has been compromising for a long time. That's why there are so many laws.
I'm not talking about the US government, it acts as an effective uniparty - when was the last time something important, like foreign policy was changed due to a new government? the only real difference is that the republicans are 10 years or so behind the democrats in terms of insane social policy; ie. "there's nothing wrong with trannies but we don't really want them in the same bathrooms as our kids'.
I'm talking about the people who have been split down the middle and refuse to even acknowledge their counterparts' policy preferences as legitimate

Why are you talking to Larry?
Larry isn't the kind of person who should be talked with. He's the kind of person who should be ignored, or - in a more crucial situation - neutralized.
But dear god stop communicating with him. It's sad. Like arguing with a chimp.

1. You cannot reform your government to be what you want it to be
Stop deluding yourself into thinking if only we pass this law, or elect this person, things can get back on track.
Our governments are fucked beyond repair. There's no mending them. They're a write off. They need to be sent to the scrap heap and a new one installed in their place.
2. Democratically elected Leaders have very little actual power
If the last 4 years has taught us anything it's that elected leaders have surprisingly little power when compared to the huge number of unelected civil servants, NGOs, big tech companies, universities, and media outlets. Focusing your energy the small fraction of power a leader has when the rest of it will never change hands through an election is a waste of time.
If you don't believe me, then consider this - the vast majority of world leaders congratulated Biden not when the US Government called the election, but when the Media called the election.
3. It's a waste of time to organize on platforms built by your enemies
Being right wing on twitter or facebook or youtube is beyond fucking retarded. They can and will de-platform when and if they please.
There are so many alternatives to "big tech" out there, and quite frankly I'm tired of hearing excuses for not using them. It's never been easier to have an independent presence on the internet than it has been in 2021.
4. Don't bother 'reaching across the aisle' to anyone on the left
These people hate you far more than you hate them. They want you to either convert or die, and your way of life to evaporate. There's no compromise, except a 'compromise' in their favour. Don't debate. Don't 'play fair'. Your goal is to do what they've been doing for hundreds of years - it's to seize power and win.

Remember how Donald Trump incited that super violent bloody terrifying act of insurrectionist bone chilling extreme right terrorist riots of terrorism?
By contrast, the New York Times merely informed people of facts that encouraged months and months of 'mostly peaceful' protests all over the country that included 2 billion dollars of damage, out of control fires across the nation, and the death of 19 people.
Anyway I am sure glad Trump has been de-platformed and the New York Times can continue to educate us.

What happened, happened because it wasn't stopped by design. They could have easily prevented it, however they let it happen because it would be the final nail. With optics like what happened, support for Mr MAGA and the MAGA cause dropped significantly.

stl thinks he's funny and clever when he posts a picture of trump with a beer gut but actually he just looks like a boomer that still laughs at LOL CAN I HAS CHEESEBURGER MEMES
His political commentary doesn't go any deeper than "lol orange hair man"
He doesn't seem intelligent enough to have the capacity to think about an issue with any real depth or thought. Probably from a lifetime of learning politics through television where you gotta wait until the commercial break is over.
That's what Stl's posts feel like, a re run of Morning Joe with commercial breaks because he will post a "LOL TRUMP IS BAD" meme and then spend the next few hours in "commercial break" mode where he declares victory and ignores everything around him.
It's quite the sight. He will probably just respond to this with some shit like LOL YEAH BUT TRUMP LOST LMAO xDDDDD GOTTTEM

Why is everyone cucking and condemning the protestors. This is why the "right" always loses. You never seen the "left" condemn antifa/black lives matter terror and destruction.
the left has general support of the top and the bottom - the 'elites' who encourage the behaviour and allow it to go unpunished, and the bottom-rung unemployables who have nothing to lose. the right is more around the middle; they're more concerned with retaining what they have (ie. families, small businesses etc.), even if it isn't much in the grand scheme
