Originally posted by MORALLY SUPERIOR BEING 2020 IV: Intravenous Soyposting The rise of Germany as a power triggered WW1. Germany had recently unified from a collection of shit-eating states, and had a high birth rate and a great economy, largely due to the efforts of one Otto von Bismarck.
Britain, France and Tzarist Russia - the "Entente Cordiale" - thought they could crush Germany quickly and decisively.
They weren't far wrong - were able to crush Germany - though not quickly and not decisively.
If they hadn't struck, the world would be a different place.
those are the conditions that led to ww1. its generally accepted the murder of ferdinand as the trigger. -

China isn't America's rival in the same sense that a rabbit is not a rival of a cow - even though they might both eat grass they inhabit different ecological niches.
what triggered ww1 again.
anyway the US came this || close to nuking the shit out of china not too long ago. war can simply started because a drone crashed into a ship or a misfire or things. -

Originally posted by MORALLY SUPERIOR BEING 2020 IV: Intravenous Soyposting Except we do have self-flying planes, pilots are just there for regulatory reasons, to reassure the passengers, and in case something unforeseen happens.
The only thing stopping self-driving cars becoming universal is that people just don't want to spend the extra $5-10k that they cost right now.
There's nothing stopping you from buying a Tesla, slipping an orange under the steering wheel to simulate a human hand and bypass the safety, and safely drinking your way to your destination.
not really no.
airplanes cant take off or land by themselves, its just too complicated. they can only fly from waypoint to waypoint in the air like NPCs.
also google tesla autopilot crashes. -

Originally posted by the man who put it in my hood For now it does. It's just a bandaid, we are long overdue for conflict. Wars used to be countries fighting for resources and politics, now there is enough for everyone so we fight for wealth through capitalism in the international markets.
Something we've never really seen is large scale conflict for wealth. Maybe a little bit with colonialism and the East India company.
There will come a day when technology and wealth will reach a point where there won't be a need for taxes or government. Like with self driving cars, I think technology like that has the potential to reduce government spending for things like traffic laws. Isn't that the point of technology to make things easier for everyone?
You wouldn't even need street signs or traffic lights which is how things used to be.
there wont be self driving cars in your lifetime because flying a plane is like 100 times easier than driving a car and yet we do not have self driving planes all these years so they wont be able to come up with reliable self driving cars anytime soon.
just search tesla crashes and see how advanced its self driving cars are. -
