me. Ive made good decisions in my short time on earth, unlike 90% of Americans. Ive sacrificed more than most of you could ever imagine in order to get to where i am today. The problem with the majority of Americans today is nobody wants to sacrifice "this" in order to get "that" in the long term. Everybody wants instant gratification, doesn't want to invest any time or money for the future, buys things they cant afford because its only "x" amount a month without looking at what it will cost them long term. Most people disgust me when they try to flaunt and brag about objects that i know they couldnt afford to buy but did anyway because loans are stretched out to unbelieveable amounts of years these days.
I think the scariest part is most people only have around a month or 2 at best of savings put away in order to keep their current lifestyle, i really dont know how these type of people sleep at night to be honest

I think he did it bc some people with depression often sit around and think to themselves well I’ve done everything I’m supposed to do according to society; the normal check marks of things that are supposed to make you happy or can make you happy and still don’t provide happiness/satisfaction. It’s confusing when you are successful in your career, relationships, have family, friends, nice things, and still feel that depression hit you.
I don’t think every depressed person is meant to live with nothing bc it worked for a philosopher.
I’ve been broke. I’ve had money. I’ve been depressed during both times. I’d rather have money.
