it's called a TRADE for a reason, like electricians, like carpenters, a mason (not freemason)...a trade skill is more valuable than the education itself. if power ran down, i could still machine and fix things to keep tractors, vehicles, medical equipment, general machining off a generator. but it's not just the ability to plug your mill into a generator, but it's a skill to be set up while everyone else is struggling and you get the work....that is more of a doomsday approach, but it speaks volumes to have the skills of this trade when all hell breaks loose. you are still in position to survive because your skills benefit military, production, life saving equipment, and 99%of the population have no idea what your skill is, involves, let alone the fact you need to actually comprehend mathematics.
im sitting good in my skill and will/should always have job security and new job opportunities until i die/retire.

2019-10-27 at 4:29 PM UTC in Anybody here work as a machinist?i tapped directly into a line pole (electric wires running on poles along sides of the road). i made a 200 amp breaker and from there ran 2 lines 100 amps. and then from there to my shop, pole bar, barn, home, and some animal buildings i installed lighting.
ran conduit and then fed my wiring harness and then connected ceiling shop lights and breakers for 3 phase :)The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

the best way to is to have a job in a machine shop environment while taking classes. today's tech schools normally have machine equipment so if you are not on a machine at work, you will have one to learn from in tech class. plus, you will have a first hand look at how the instructor operates and explains what he or she or it is doing.

to be a real Toolmaker you must know:
1) trigonometry (we use the triangle and work off of the Right Angle)
2) Metallurgy to understand the density of the metal to know how fast you can use a cutter (end mill made of high speed steel, or carbon, or possibly with diamond plated, could be a ceramic end mill...just so many and each uses a different speed per the type of material)
3) need to understand x-y-z (x = left to right or right to left)(y = front to back or back to front)(z = up and down)
4) need to know GD&T = everything you see on a BLUEPRINT is defined by GD&T
5) Machinist Handbooks are really the BIBLE of the Machine Shop so penny up and buy the recent $150 dollar version
6) need to know what Tolerances mean
7) need to understand the ZERO Scale that numbers run both on the Positive and Negative sides.
8) need to know what a standard Mill, Lathe, Grinder are and you will need 8,000 hours on all Machines to be qualified for your JOURNEYMAN'S CARD!!
9) find a position for Apprenticeship that will make you take classes at a Technical University.
10) THERE WILL NEVER BE A DUMB QUESTION SO ASK IT INSTEAD OF WRECKING MY MACHINE EQUIPMENT!!

in my field of Mathematics, my numbers and final project have to be so close to perfect (ZERO), we can literally take a human hair, split it 15 times and then split that. that means, i am one hair split 45 times to being perfect to zero (i shoot for 80 millionths as a tolerance).

Islam makes the most sense to me in a logical way (Montheism in which the concept of God is incalculable and immeasurable but is still omnipresent) and I need to be constantly vigilant and conscious of God and my place in the world in order to keep myself from fucking up.
