If not, before starting any training program you need to do blood and urine tests first, a stress test and check what vitamins and minerals you need or if you have any parasites or toxins present. Even three times a week would be good to start with and slowly add weights along with a secondary sport like running, cycling or swimming. Something you like and that doesn't bore you. You've been like this for some time…rushing into a dramatic life change will only make you more frustrated and less excited. Most important factor…don't listen to anyone negative and push yourself positively even if you fall back a few times. This is something you do individually and with your teacher you set goals.
