These seem to be the highest-power so I think they would help you get to operating temperature the quickest. Mmmm, warm air from the vents as soon as you start the car sounds nice. Don't know what motor you have but there are generally manufacturer/motor-specific block-heaters available that you put into the engine, replacing one of the freeze-plugs. The one pictured is a different style, might be hard finding room to mount something like it on a modern car. ~50-100 Bucks
The battery blanket and the oil pan heaters are usually only a hundred watts or so, but the coolant/block heaters are frequently 1000+ watts which might be worth running off of a timer for energy saving.
It's 60F here, I'm wearing flip-flops airing out my trench feet. I've never stayed anywhere cold enough to gel up gasoline. I want to build an adventure vehicle with all of the above types of heaters though, and possibly a fuel-fired coolant heater like an Espar or Webasto ( $$$ !!! )The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -
