    Thats cool but I see no evidence that they invented or manufactured any of the substances used in their experiments. Back then it wasn't illegal, no laws existed for it so they could legally test it on humans
    
    American government experiments barely cast a shadow on the history of LSD. It certainly didn't come from political groups, it is a product of science and the relationship between man and nature.
    
    It's a beautiful compound and the knowledge to produce it is a blessing and a gift. Imagine if we could go back to the dark ages with this knowledge

    There was a real counter culture movement and it had nothing to do with that gay peace and love shit.
    
    While that was going on people were doing legitimate clandestine research and laying the framework for what we have today. They knew the government would be on their asses so they made sure to learn as much as possible before it was illegal and gave out all the info for free
    
    
    That would never happen today. The counter culture movement had academics ordering new unheard of drugs from Europe and reverse engineering them so everyone had access to them
    
    In our modern world they discover new and powerful drugs all the time like fentanyl analogs and synthetic cannabis but nobody wants to talk about how these drugs are made, the patents are guarded because of Chinese chemists that are willing to make anything
    
    There are still people out there who want to reverse engineer popular drugs and figure out how to make them clandestinely but for the most part that world is completely dead
