Originally posted by A College Professor you probably need to brace/back-up the faucet body while you try to loosen the bonnet nut or you can end up loosening the faucet body from the mounting nut under the countertop and then you will have a POS sloppy faucet that wobbles around loose on your countertop until you crawl up underneath and tighten it
I loosened the mounting nut at the bottom already so its wobbling around because I have no idea what i'm doing. I will tighten it and try to unscrew the brass notched looking thing I think thats the nut -

2021-07-18 at 6:29 PM UTC in how to fix a single handle type sink?update:
I found the plug and took it off, my allen keys were too short or too fat to fit in the hole
I tried to unscrew the thing from the bottom but the screw was stuck and I stripped the end of it WOOPS then I learned you aren't actually supposed to do that
So I bought an allen key set for $3 hopefully one of them fits.

A: Shove a couple more highlighters in to tighten up the seal
i dont get it, that wouldn't fit in the faucet
