   oh yeah I forgot about lye gak that is a very real and common thing which killed a lot of the shake and bake industry because most pills have lye gak that turn into jello when you add a strong base. Most common in big brand name american pills

   The reason they say ephedrine doesn't work and you need PSEUDOephedrine is because the PSEUDO part of pseudoephedrine has a proton and you need a proton donor for the birch reaction to work and apparently it doesn't have enough protons if you just use ephedrine
   
   It's an old wives tail though I don't think it was ever confirmed. Also there are plenty of solvents with protons i think if you added toluene and ephedrine it would work. That's where that "myth" comes from. Although in clandestine science it's hard to prove anything it's not like there's a published medical journal for drug cooks.

   the only thing I can think of that would cause it to not work is something in the pills turning the solvent into jello, it's been known to happen. If it KEEPS happening maybe it's the pills or something with your method, shaking creates emulsions so it's pretty common but usually not bad enough to kill reaction workup

   maybe try fiiltering it more through some cotton balls. Are you just dumping the entire thing in the fiilter? You should try to pour it carefully try to avoid getting any solids or media in the fillter. Maybe you need more fuel at the end because if you use SODIUM HYDRODE/LYE/DRAIN CLEANER it will FREEBASE the meth into meth oil which dissolves in the fuel
   
   you might not have enough fuel to dissolve it all so it's just picking up the crap with a bit of meth oil, if you add more fuel and it's still not floating to the top and staying dark color maybe try putting a vibrating dildo in the vessel and letting it vibrate for a bit to break up any emulsion.
   
   Your pills also might have emulsifiers if you are just crushing them up and using the ground up pills without cleaning them first.

   salt water might help, i can't remember if meth freebase oil dissolves in water, i don't think it does?
   sonification is the dildo, or more filltering. I suspect it's an emulsion or something along those lines.
