The 15 hottest days, in the world's hottest month

Nearly every facet of the climate system is flashing red this summer, from record-low sea ice extent in Antarctica to hot tub-like ocean waters surrounding South Florida, and all-time high temperature records set in multiple countries on at least three continents. And all this is occurring as human-caused emissions of greenhouse gases from the burning of fossil fuels and other sources continue to increase.

Rampant heatwaves threaten food security of entire planet, scientists warn

“Our food system is global,” said John Marsham, professor of atmospheric science at the University of Leeds. “There are growing risks of simultaneous major crop losses in different regions in the world, which will really affect food availability and prices. This is not what we’re seeing right now, but in the coming decades that’s one of the things I’m really scared of.

    Real news:

Ocean surface temperatures showing exponential, hockey stick increase

Ocean surface temperatures have set a continuous record of high temperature every day since March 14. That’s 129 days of continuous record setting temperatures. The level of increase is also incredible. There’s clearly been a step change of some kind. Either the ocean is increasingly unable to hold CO2 and heat, or we’ve entered the steeper portion of the curve of feedback/runaway climate change effects. Perhaps both are in effect. In any case, this is the starkest evidence we’ve ever observed about the state of the oceans and planet. The massive wildfires and floods, and off the charts record setting temperatures in various countries, provide further support that we’re in the midst of collapse.

Oh look, another video that doesn't contradict anything I've posted in this thread. And it's another project veritas video too? Wow, you really are that stupid after all.

Can you quote me claiming that? No, you can't, because I never did.

Same, don't understand why or how some of these folks who aren't just attempting to troll are actually living in such denial.

Originally posted by Narc Nobody saying global warming doesn't exist you retard, its always existed, long before man did. The fact your side say we deny it exists just shows how much full of shit they are.

I've never heard of anyone saying the climate never changed before man existed. But I have heard plenty of denial that the actions of man could affect how the climate changes or the rate at which it changes. All I am posting are scientific studies and news articles about the anthropocene, the collapse, and that topic isn't limited to climate change. Not looking to convince anyone of anything because I couldn't care less about your opinion, but based on the plethora of information I have linked to in this thread you would have to be mentally retarded to keep living in that state of denial. If any of you had any information that could dispute anything I've linked to in this thread you would surely have posted something by now. None of you have. A lot of laughable propaganda and utter nonsense, sure, but nothing real.

The fact that you believe so whole heartedly that there are different sides and there is some worthwhile battle is evidence of how stupid you are. The rich and powerful want exactly that. The more the masses fight themselves, the easier it becomes to rob their pockets, devalue their labour and hoard natural resources for themselves. Don't hate me for posting the news. Hate the elite for making this your reality. There will always be corruption in human organizations. If you can prove what I am posting is bullshit then do it. I know you never will.

We're already missing almost 2mil km² (11% less) of sea ice in Antarctica compared to last year which was already the lowest sea ice coverage on record:

House Republicans propose planting a trillion trees as they move away from climate change denial

The idea — simple yet massively ambitious — revealed recent Republican thinking on how to address climate change. The party is no longer denying that global warming exists, yet is searching for a response to sweltering summers, weather disasters and rising sea levels that doesn’t involve abandoning their enthusiastic support for American-produced energy from burning oil, coal and gas.

Note: Planting a trillion trees is not the same as planting a thriving self sustaining full forest ecosystem.

"This trend shows no signs of decreasing. So we're in for a bit of a ride, I'm afraid," he said, cautioning that ongoing heatwaves "will have quite serious impacts on human health and livelihoods".
