Originally posted by Chios Honey I heard it has to do with sulfates? cheap wine does this. they use it to speed up the fermentation or some shit.
All your knowledge is half assed. You are talking about sulfites not sulfates. Both sulfates and sulfites are sulfur-based compounds. Sulfates are salts of sulfuric acid, and you probably encounter them on a daily basis. Sodium lauryl sulfate, a strong detergent that aids in removing grease by binding oil to water, is in everything from dish soap and floor cleaners to body washes and shampoo; some people feel it’s too harsh for body products, which is why some shampoos and other products are advertised as "sulfate-free." Epsom salts are also made of sulfates. Sulfates aren’t involved in wine production, but some beer makers use calcium sulfate—also known as brewers’ gypsum—to correct mineral deficiencies in water during the brewing process.
Sulfites are naturally occurring compounds found in all wines; they act as a preservative by inhibiting microbial growth. Consuming sulfites is generally harmless, and they are found in all kinds of things, from molasses to dried fruit. But some people—especially asthmatics—can have an allergic reaction to sulfites, which is why you see the warning that wine contains sulfites. Unfortunately, folks that experience headaches or flushing after drinking wine often wrongly blame sulfites because of that warning on the label. It causes a lot of confusion.
Even though sulfites are naturally occurring, most winemakers also add sulfur dioxide during the winemaking process to ensure against spoilage.

Shut up dumbass...Is there a difference between chickpeas and garbanzo beans?
In short, no. There isn’t a difference between chickpeas and garbanzo beans.
However, understanding the varieties of chickpeas helps to explain the addition of the term “garbanzo bean.”
Chickpea classification
Chickpeas are a type of legume, the family of plants that also includes peanuts, soybeans, lentils, and peas. Legumes have edible seeds that grow in pods.
Within the legume family are two categories: oilseed and non-oilseed legumes. The non-oilseed legumes include a sub-category called “pulses,” and chickpeas fall into that sub-category (2Trusted Source).
Chickpea varieties
Chickpeas are a type of pulse and can further be split into two main types: desi and kabuli (3).
The desi chickpea is a smaller seed with a thick outer coating that must be removed before eating. These types of chickpeas have multiple color varieties, including brown, black, green, and yellow (4).
Kabuli chickpeas are larger, have a thin outer coating, and are lighter in color.
The desi and kabuli chickpea types are the most prevalent on store shelves, but there are multiple wild chickpea relatives currently being studied for crop diversity purposes (5).
When buying chickpeas in your local grocery store, it’s most likely that you’ll purchase a desi or kabuli chickpea variety.
When are chickpeas called garbanzo beans?
In the United States, kabuli chickpeas are often labeled as garbanzo beans. However, the name difference is not indicative of a functional difference in the plant.
All garbanzo beans are considered to be chickpeas. However, it’s most common that those labeled as “garbanzo beans” are the kabuli variety of chickpea.
Summary
Chickpeas and garbanzo beans are interchangeable names that refer to the same variety of the chickpea known as the kabuli chickpea.

They do a toy run (not to be confused with the national Toys for Tots sponsored by the USMC) to benefit local underprivileged kids in in Northwest Mohave County Arizona. They will use the funds to supplement the money they raise every year on the annual toy run they have held for the last 16 years. -

Originally posted by Chios Honey It's the same vegetable yes but its called a chickpea when its in the pod or taken out of the pod, Fresh. it's an unprocessed or cooked Garbanzo Bean.
When it's heated and canned its to put on salads whole or to be mashed into Hummus it's a garbanzo bean actually.
its like Choco powder vs making Chocolate or both Choco Butter and Choco Powder come from the same bean but different processed.
"What is the difference between dried and fresh chickpeas?
How to Cook Chickpeas | Blue Apron
Fresh chickpeas are picked while they are still green and in the pod. Dried chickpeas are left on the vine until both the plant and the bean have dried out. Dried garbanzo beans are usually the ones that get cooked and canned or turned into hummus. Canned chickpeas are cooked and seasoned with salt prior to canning.Feb 11, 2022"
^Dumbass answer
Correct answer:
"The word chickpea derives from the Latin word cicer arietinum, which is the scientific name for the actual plant (many other legumes derive from the word cicer arietinum as well), while the name garbanzo bean comes from a Spanish background."
Different words from different cultures for the same exact thing dumbass.
England: Lorry, Fag, Bonnet, Boot
America: Truck, Cigarette, Hood, Trunk
same exact shit different word dumbass -
