Another part are white people who make a lot of money. trump’s tax cuts benefitted them. I call them sell-outs.
Yet another part of his base are from rural areas, typically uneducated white men.
I’m from a a part of population that backed trump in 2016, (although I knew better), suburban white women. trump has lost most of the suburban white women.

That is not to say that the way past administration have dealt with since then were correct and they were certainly not effective. -

Yes, that is exactly what occurred. Trump won the White House on the Republican ticket in 2016. At that time the Republican party had a slim lead with 241 seat to 194 seats. In 2018 during the mid term elections for the house the Democratic party gained 41 seats to take a slim majority of 235 to 199. Historically something just like that that has happened more often than not when there is a party change at 1600 Penn Ave.
