The percentage depends on too many factors I suppose for the purpose of this exchange. Taxes should only be spent on things that everyone needs and uses, Everyone needs national defense and uses it. Everyone needs roads and uses them. Police and fire are services required and used by everyone. Not everyone needs or uses government health insurance. Not everyone needs or uses welfare/food stamps. I think you can see where I am going. -
