A place where talk is cheap, and deceit is the norm of the realm. A place where little is as it seems. A place within the World of Darkness, welcome to Sheltering Sky: Colorado by Night.
The game supports many of the core Storyteller books of White Wolf's revised World of Darkness setting: Vampire: the Masquerade, Werewolf: the Apocalypse, Mage: the Ascension, Sorcerer: Revised Edition, and Changeling: the Dreaming. We believe in supporting both sides of the coin, the dark and the darker. Now, this does not mean that Pokoh's Peak is without light, nor does it mean that RP is all about 'I have more angst than you'. Instead, it means that we urge people to understand that in the long run, the stars will go out and the world will be plunged into darkness. How you spend your last moments in the light is what the game is all about.
The time is now: the world is succumbing to the World of Darkness by means of elevated corruption and violence. The police are corrupt, accepting payoffs and turning a blind eye to illegal activity if it suits them. The government is indifferent to the individual, caring more about what this or that corporation desires. It is where monsters stalk the filth clogged alleys, themselves stalked by even stranger things. Locals whisper about 'things' to be found in the mountain, yet none have any idea what those 'things' might be. It is a never ending cycle of suckers and providers, life and death.
Situated about 30-35 miles west of Denver, Pokoh's Peak is a city of about 85-100k. Tourism from the beautiful surrounding countryside and nearby ski slopes ensures a constant stream of those visiting the region. Industry flourishes as one dies out, another has sprung to take its place. Pokoh's Peak is a city of ever-changing darkness. -
