Climate change will push humanity to develop technologies in a range of disciplines that will ultimately propel us to new heights as a species. The world needs a good crisis to progress us and covid wasn't it.

Imagine the innovations in areas ranging from genetically engineered food to material science to military weaponry. Climate change will force humanity into a new renaissance.

There are actual retards out there who think that in 50 years the earth will be mostly inhabitable and the population will be sub 1 bill. Thankfully these people are the ones choosing not to have kids, not that they could afford them anyway.

I look forward to climate change. I made decent money hacking together a fear-mongering/greta worshipping climate change alarmist website.

    Thank you climate change.

Yeah I was/am weird as fuck. Don't act like functional, well-adjusted people post on this site or previous incarnations.

    Serious post.

After the ridiculous flop of the democrats convention it reminded me of a few key differences between the left and the right that cannot be forgotten when doing analysis of this election cycle.

By miles, republicans have a much higher level of enthusiasm. Nearly every single 'meme' that the democrats come up with is unoriginal and often a straight copy of a right wing original, creativity is a symptom of high enthusiasm. The right are campaigning hard, Trump has been holding successful rallies throughout his presidency. Biden is failing to visually appear on the campaign trail. The left don't have the initiative this election, they simply respond to the trump campaign like a dog on a lead.

Where's Joe Biden? Not on the campaign trail: https://www.usnews.com/news/elections/articles/2020-08-07/wheres-joe-biden-not-on-the-campaign-trail

Biden is boring and drawl. He's earned his moniker of Sleepy Joe and it will stay. He isn't exciting, he isn't energetic. No-one is excited to hear him speak, especially his supporters. The attitude towards him is "well it's biden but at least it's not Trump".

Enthusiasm is key. It is a primary motivator to actually vote. I would suggest up to 5 points of Biden's lead can be neglected due to the lack of enthusiasm on the left. A further few points can probably be ignored as the big democratic cities weight it in Biden's favour.

    --------------------------------------------

The second is the gap of positive emotions.

What does the campaign of Biden bring? Discussion and reflection on white supremacy, race riots and general topics around racism and sexism and coronavirus. Biden's first speech after getting Harris as VP was to whine about Charlottesville in a continued attempt to stoke emotions of anger and fear into the left. They've been doing it for 4 years now and everyone's more miserable for it.

Trump on the other hand is a character of charisma and energy. He talks about winning and loving america all the time. He is constantly engaging with memes. He insults his opponents directly. He creates nick-names for them. He is rude but he is fun and exciting. You watch a live rally of his and unless you're a die-hard opponent, his rallies are entertaining and enjoyable. The republicans are crafting an atmosphere of comradely around trump while the left continue their talk of reparations and bringing down capitalism. Trump talks of further tax cuts and bringing american manufacturing back. Biden talks of gun control and high taxes.

Trump promotes an air of freedom, Biden promotes further regulation and more of the establishment.

It doesn't even matter how much of Trumps "winning" persona matches or becomes reality, only the fact he is established as a winning persona. It feels good to side with a winner, someone who is ambitious and breaks the norms.

The Biden campaign need to go in hard very soon because the scales are tipping back in trumps favor.

Why are electronic elections even a thing? Paper ballots this election, next election and every election till the end of time.

A group viewing themselves like many black people do - as a monolithic entity - is fine as long as it creates a foundation or a path to prosperity.

    But it doesn't.

I'll ignore the rest of you post as it didn't make anything resembling a point.

So let's just keep sperging about white supremacy as that has improved racial relations so much in the last 20 years hasn't it? Clearly the chaos that we've been experiencing with these riots.. we just need more right? That'll fix it I'm sure...

All drugs should be legal, state sponsored and accompanied by mandatory education on such.
Not sure it would solve the nigger problem, but it would solve a lot of other problems like gangwars, ODs, over-population in prisons, crack babies, depression, not to mention how unlimited access to mushrooms, dmt, lsd, and mescaline would suddenly enlighten people which would result in a paradigm shift of unimaginable dimensions.

Did some stuff, got some further education, worked some places. Now I'm trying to become self-employed making desktop software and mobile apps. Nice to see another familiar name back from the zoklet days.

I'm on board with legalising all drugs. I'm a firm believer that if you give people the freedom to do something potentially dangerous it creates a vector for responsibility to form. Some will fail and fall through the cracks but it'll be a whole lot less than the problems we have today.

the dumb nigger loving whore cant because niggers are incapable of civilization. they are literally barely a rung on the evolutionary ladder above sub-simian primates.

the arabs originally made use of them the same way any other civilization made use of wild animals that would have use to mankind as domesticated animals. niggers are no different than domesticated dogs, llamas, camels, or any other livestock.

slavery my ass…domesticated niggers have it infinitely better than any wild jungle nigger

There needs to be serious reform of America education. It is the best in the world for spotting and bringing up geniuses but the averages are not great.

There is some truth to your second comment. Societies tend to become more progressive when it comes to social issues as the older generations die. Just be careful to make the assumption that the opinions of the newer generation are automatically more ethical. Some of the rhetoric coming out of far left groups makes me think any void left by the loss of far right racism will simply be replaced.

    Muh horseshoe theory.

This is because there isn't a cultural phenomenon that unify "whites" as a racial group to advocate for.

White people don't need to advocate for whites as a whole as it serves no practical purpose. Instead white people advocate for themselves, their families and local communities.

It won't stay that way of course, the more black lives matter and antifa attack white people as a whole for "whiteness" the more pressure white people will feel to rally around their skin colour.

Unironically the activities of BLM and Antifa has likely caused more racism than they could ever hope to prevent.

These may or may not disproportionately affect white people, but that doesn't mean solutions should be racial.

There are black people who are suffering from opiate addiction just as much as a white addict. Solutions shouldn't be "Here is X amount of resources to aid white addicts", it should be "Here is X amount of resources to aid the most vulnerable". If that latter group is majority white, so be it.

This is why reparations are nonsense as a concept. The second you give money to people based on skin colour you can bet your ass people will find poor white kids in trailer trash parks who have just as little opportunity as any black ghetto kid. "Look they don't care about this child because they're white". Easy optics win.

Maybe? I can't think of any specific problem that elusively affects white people.

Other than tribalistic racism from the fair left and some black radicals of course.

A strong economic family unit is both a cause and an effect of prosperity and reduced crime rates.

I think my suggestions are a fuck of a lot more likely to work than the racialized solutions coming up from the left/blm (reparations, defund the police). You mentioned beating a dead horse about this topic, and that's exactly what the lefts attitude seems to be when it comes to black communities. Fantastical ideologically driven solutions that never manifest into pragmatic policy.

Originally posted by Technologist Yeah, like I said, I’m done beating this dead horse to death. I absolutely know systemic racism and white supremacists are alive and well. Just my view.

Sure. I'm just saying that all the time and energy spent on it is a waste compared to actual solutions to the problems of the black communities.

Thousands of them. Thousands that had to gather from supremacist and ultra-nationalist groups across the nation to form a group of a few thousand.

Out of a country of 350 million people.

That doesn't tell me that racism is alive and well on a national level. It tells me that racism is a dying breed that can barely muster any strength to even gather in force.

The national power of systematic racism seems only to be artefacts from the Jim Crow era, it does not appear to be something that is in practice and encouraged today.

The difference in enthusiasm from the right is the most obvious tell.
