Exactly. You are looking for your best interest and so should the cultures you want no part of except for exploiting them.
I don't expect anyone to forget their roots but you have to abandon some practices you were used and entitled to and pick up others you may not find as attractive if you move to a place with cultural differences. If you are not willing to do that it's on you. -
