I pretty regularly say, "HOW EMBARRASSING!" which in itself doesn't sound like an internet THING, but being that I stole it from TOKERFACE on Zoklet years ago, makes it such.

    HOW EMBARRASSING!

It means that no error in the filesystem was found. You can go further with using the Ultimate Boot CD like I mentioned earlier if you wanted to do a manufacturer test on the drive, but you've probably already found your problem - The DVD that was stuck in the drive.

I guess whatever it takes to please Bill Krozby and benny vader.

Or, I can just say "fuck off" and keep drinking my beer.

Spectral is mad that I exposed him for being a Google copy/paster in T&T. He also didn't take his medication this morning, so he is angrier than he usually is.

Bill Krozby, I am 6' tall, whether you want to believe that or not, that's fine. I am not trying to prove anything to anybody. Come see me in TC if you wanna know.

Let it go, Speccy. I already exposed you as a Google copy/paster. Just let it go. Stick to Windows XP. Let Linux boys handle this.

    .

You need to run a file system check to ensure integrity since it was having problems with your encrypted volume. fsck will do this, but you need to know what volume to run it on, hence the reason I was asking for the output of parted /dev/sda 'print'

Typically speaking, you can use: fsck /dev/sda(number for your volume here) to check.

have to break it into parts coz of post limit

    .

The part of the output of dmesg that you posted in this reply doesn't reference the part we were interested in. Instead, post the output of the command: parted /dev/sda 'print'

No, they stem from the volume being encrypted and it being unable to decrypt them. Oh, Speccy! You're so angry today!

Do you even know what a linux reference to sr0 is, retard?

I bet you saw "read error" and stopped there, made your reply, deeming it "BAD SECTORS!!!!!!!!!!", implying a bad hard drive.

If you read the entire error messages and knew what sr0 in Linux referred to, you'd know it was referring to a CD/DVD drive. You'll probably come back to say, "BAD SECTORS ON THE DVD DISC THAT THE DRIVE COULDN'T READ, THEREFORE, PRODUCING THE ERROR IDIOT!"

Oh Speccy. Just stick to Windows XP.

    .

Rather than that, from terminal, post the results of "parted /dev/sda 'print'"

Glad to hear you got it sorted out, seemingly.

64 or 32 bit refers to the software (OS) installed on it and whether or not your CPU is capable of it. You can use any hard drive you want.

You have options. If you go with traditional hard drives, you have RPM speeds, SATA connection version, and buffer speeds that affect performance. You typically want a 2.5" (whatever capacity) 32MB, SATA3, 5400RPM drive for laptops. If you want better performance, look for higher buffer (64, 128) and higher RPM speed (7200, 10000).

You could also opt for an SSD. I'd recommend a Samsung EVO. Whatever capacity you need. 2.5" also, SATA3
